Anyway, All you can do is keep trying to steer them towards good content :D can't wait for them to just get done with all SRK movies ..π I love SRk.. not his movies.. barring a few!

2023-08-18 04:48:01 +0000 UTCThat is real sad and surprising, i was wondering as to how come they havent watch it as it had Big B and was such a well made movie, great story line and it was by Manjule what more do we want ! this is an issue which gets slightly frustrating over here in Patreon, i remember i used to recommend continously for 2 years subramaniapuram Anurag's inspiration for GOW which he even creditd in the titles got selected in poll after 2 years π but one always keep trying till we get what we want π so you just keep trying like us Tamil patreons always without giving up π

2023-08-17 19:17:46 +0000 UTCI am glad you loved Jhund BTW.. in one of twitter live session a while ago with Korbin, I suggested Jhund which was just out on Netflix that timeand Korbin said people told him its not good :(.. and they watched Jayeshbhai Jordaar instead.. π¬ It barely gets any votes when i suggest it.. i hope more people watch it. The director weaves magic with non actors pulled out from their actual reality .. its incredible ! Feel bad its not talked about as much as it should

Ofcourse you should watch Ranjith's body of work, he is actually a Dalit activist who makes movies π. please watch Kaala with Rajinikanth as lead and it has all the great actors including Nana Patekar and Pankaj Tripathi and Huma Quereishi. Let us know what you thought of them π and if you like his work you will enjoy the rest of his work as well.π

In Hindi- Jhund, Bala, Juice short story, lipstick under my burkha , Dolly aur Kitty, Masaan, Badrinath ki Dulhania, Article 15, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Aarakshan to name a few handled similar issues.. In Marathi as well, do watch Sairaat and Fandry if interested .. Many artists have tried to tell the stories of our society in their own way.. In MIH, Some stories i liked, some i didnt connect to.. my expectations were much higher like many I can talk in detail of what bothered me.. i dont know if it bothers Korbin if we discuss it with spoilers

Jhund was a very good movie.. a tad bit long but really good. Again, OSR needs to see it..i think its failure at BO deterred NM from making more hindi movies For Ghyavan- Masaan and Juice - both are very good.. Will check out Pa.Ranjith work! When it comes MIH2, may be I had very high expectations.. I also agree with many reviews online. I loved Bulbul Jauhari soo much.. the Jauhari family needs a separate series of its own

2023-08-16 22:50:35 +0000 UTC@Revati I am a huge fan of Manjule's work, haven't seen much of Ghayvan work except Gheeli Poochi. i am eagerly waiting for the collaboration work of Pa.Ranjith, Manjule , Ghaywan which is to start production next year which would be a path breaker for sure. I went and checked who directed each episode after watching the season 2 and then nodded to myself aah there it is π .to me It is astonishing how these amazing directors arent making more hindi movies as their body of work shows high quality and great content!

2023-08-16 22:36:28 +0000 UTC@Divya - well said! If the issues interest you, do watch Nagaraj Manjule and Neeraj Ghyavan work as well.. its of different strata of the society but similar at heart. My personal fav in this season was Radhika Apte's episode. @Maya- by western I meant- the style of writing, presenting,direction has that nuance which is easily palatable to a western audience when it comes to story telling.. whereas I can see a certain Indian audience might not feel entertained by.(I can imagine my mom switching it off in the first episode itself .. lol) I felt certain arcs needed more time to develop like Tara's story.. couldnt care less about Karan's story but his got a lot of screen time.. I would love to discuss every story and episode and peel it like an onion.. But would be more fun to do so when these guys watch it!

2023-08-16 22:03:27 +0000 UTCI thoroughly enjoyed Season 2, as much as it was about the ultra rich life style and wedding I found it quiet refreshing and heartening that an attempt was made to address some of the socio political issues which are not that commonly addressed by Hindi industry. I loved how they dint actually try to preach the solution for all problems but just show it as realistic as possible.i personally felt each episode can easily become a movie if they get the right creators who can build on the plot and artists as they were all such strong story lines, my only wish would be to come out of the lifestyle of the 3-5 % ultra rich who can buy tulips from Amsterdam but the ones who negotiate with the flower vendor for a grams of jasmine or marigoldπ
