Yeah it's a little too early for you guys to decide whether you like Akshay movies or not since you haven't really watched enough of him. He has a unique style that goes well for some people but may not work for others. Either way, definitely check out more of his movies to decide, especially when he was at his peak, I am not completely sure but I believe that was 2007 - 2011 and later years as well.
