It was maybe the 3rd or 4th film I saw that finally had subtitles (Yay finally DVDs got invented) It also was the one that just burst one of my bubbles because it was the film where I was finally told that the actors weren't singing. I remember asking my students why the young actress (Kareena) sounded like an 80 year old. So for a few more movies at least I still believed the men sang. LMAO! I was like my dtr when I had told her the Easter Bunny and Santa weren't real. It was a tough couple of days but then she called me into her room and said with panic 'What about the Tooth Fairy! Oof she was angry, demanded all her teeth back LOL. I was a afraid to ask and was totally crushed that Shah Rukh didn't sing. I held out hope, in my denial for a month I think. LOL

2023-11-17 00:17:30 +0000 UTCno i would not recommend this movie. i would be very surprised if you like it lol. hrithik movies i would recommend are kaho na pyar hai (the 1st part is meh but 2nd part is pretty entertaining), fiza, dhoom 2 (dhoom series are standalone sequels), the krish movies (sequels to koi mil gaya), kaabil. movies of rani i would recommend are chori chori chupke chupke (pretty controversial at least for its time), saathiya, chalte chalte, chori chori (very underrated), yuva (also has kareena in it), hum tum, bunty aur babli, kank, hitchki, mardaani movies (2nd is better than 1st). kareena movies i would recommend are chameli, fida, 36 china town (both fida and 36 china town have korbin's best friend shahid in them lol), golmaal returns, golmaal 3 (the golmaal movies are standalone sequels and i would recommend all the movies actually, the 4th one has no kareena but it does have tabu), good newwz, angrezi medium.

So this is the only film in which Lataji ever sang for either Rani or Kareena,. And I read in an interview that Rani was excited about the film for that reason alone.. because obviously, having at least one Lataji song in your career is something that makes you feel like you are officially a hindi film actress lol. Especially when not many in the era of 2000s got that opportunity. You can def hear Latajis age a bit more here (especially because we have the direct comparison to her singing those same songs in the 60s/70s when shes at her absolute peak), but still... the nostalgia her voice carries... She carries the history of indian cinema for sure :D
