I have watched all OSR Bollywood watchalongs here and never have a problem with all the discussions during the movie but this time they really missed some information giving dialogues.I know no one asked but I usually defend against the same kind of comments. Just a small thing I noticed ONLY during this one. I don't mean anything mean by it.

The scene where Dolly gets angry at Dr.Chaddha on the phone says " mein tumhare tukde tukde kar dungi".. literally in English it was subtitled as I will cut you into pieces..🤣😂 it sounds so bad in English.. They didnt catch on the subtle crush/admiration that Chaddha has on Dolly.. "Ek Iron Lady ne meinu dassa" 😂

2023-11-18 18:13:55 +0000 UTCRick and korbin being shocked when yami says ching chong thinking she is saying that for a Chinese kid and say 'did that mean what i think it means' 'i hope not' it was actually worse she might have said it for a north-east indian kid, cause sadly that was normal, and you guys might already have learnt this that no North-east Indian like that term neither do I and so many other people. Happy to see that people are now being sensitive about.

One suggestion Korbin- you may or may not take it.when there is something you want to talk about at length.. pause,talk and then continue again.. Tanmay Bhat does that on his reaction videos and it's pretty smooth.. That way you guys dont miss much and we still get a good watchalong experience:)

2023-11-18 08:21:59 +0000 UTCThis was actually more grounded and real when you think of the stereotype they showed between Punjabi and Bengali.. compared to Rocky and Rani(which was more dramatized in a glamor glitz way and over the top) Inter-state marriages in India can all be separate movies in itself .. I dont know if it will be called racism though .. There was a growth arc for characters but you kind of missed it .. Vicky's mom and Dadi were too good

Nothing commercial about it. -Juhi Chaturvedi as writer for writing this story and making it palatable - john Abraham producing on a shoe string budget with a new actor. Ayushmann is not related to anybody. Climbed the ladder through drama, reality show, RJ, hosting shows etc. - it was a big success I felt quite a few times the jokes and the humor was missed by you guys and the literal translation didnt help.

I have never said anything in previous ones and I understand that when you watch it with someone else you are bound to talk and discuss, don't have a problem with it. I felt it so I said it. Surely you understand , why Always the sarcastic reply 🙇🏼 BTW, Yahaan is a wonderful film. It has Jimmy Shergill (from Munnabhai, Special 26, A Wednesday ), one of his earlier movies & has a great soundtrack . side note: Punjabi is pronounced like Pun (as in puns) - jabi

I have never minded it before, it was too much, this watch along . Having said all of that I do appreciate that we dont have to have our own copy for watch alongs & that's the reason I'm a patron, so thankyou is in order too.

Got it during this watchalong with subs. I had the same doubt at the ending scene with all kids when I saw the movie first time lol. Ayushmann and his family's way of talking was too fast for me too without the subs that time :P, both punjabi and hindi.

But seeing how Ayushmann stuck to this genre of creating awareness on taboo topics, made me lose interest in watching his films. He should have done more films in different genres to stop being monotonous and repetitive.
