Good call pointing this one out!! I'd recommend they see the whole movie, Annaamalai (1992), during classics month and not just this scene though. One of Rajinikanth's most memorable!! Annaamalai set multiple trends in Tamil cinema, including a "mass introduction song for a hero", a "special background music for the hero", and a poor man's rise to riches depicted during the course of a song. It is also the first time the Super Star graphic title card is shown, which is later featured in many of Rajinikanth's later films like Veera (1994), Baashha and Muthu (1995). Baashha, Muthu, and Padaiyappa are a few other fan favourites from the 90s that elevated Rajinikanth to untouchable stardom. Just a few options for classic month :)
