I dont think Rick doesn't see the opposite side. There are so many instances when Rick and Korbin have had different opinions but they have always agreed to disagree. I think majority of the Indian filmmakers, if not all, make films for the Indian audience and not to fit the western lens. Art is subjective and different people have different preferences and perspective. If I dont like Italian food, will you say that I am biased against Italian food? I am not stopping anyone from eating Italian food, neither am I judging them. Similarly, if someone doesnt like a particular style of cinema, he doesn't like it. Its simple. We make it complicated by asking why didnt he like it when the majority has liked it. Then we should stop watching any reviews because some review or the other will differ from what we think and then we will criticise. Rick has always expressed his opinions very honestly and if he hasnt liked anything, its his opinion which should be respected and not criticised. He is not criticizing people who have liked what he didnt like. And both Rick and Korbin love SRK and Ranveer too. And even if they woudnt, whats the problem? its their choice.

Opinions can differ but lately Rick refuses to see the opposite side AT ALL. Art is subjective to everyone except Rick.. everything cannot be created to fit the western lens at all time. Love Nawaz, Pankaj and others but what SRK, Ranveer etc do also takes a different skill.

I seriously dont understand whats going on here. People are just creating an issue out of nothing. They are unnecessarily criticising Rick, who is just being honest about what he feels. To a large extent I agree with Rick here. But someone having an opinion about someone is a problem? Do all opinions need to be positive? Do all opinions need to be in sync with what we think? Then whats the point of watching reaction and reviews of others when we just cant accept any form of opinion which differs from ours? Why cant we just agree to disagree? It might be difficult but if we dont do that then we will keep criticising people at the drop of a hat.

Its okay their idea of an artist is different. Rick and korbin only consider those who do art cinema and Hollywood movies as artist but we know doing commercial films and mass movies is also an art and the rate of failure is much higher here. But one thing i think should never be done is restrict and say something is not artistic if it different from one idea of art. It should always be open and not criticise if someone’s taste is different which Rick does and that too condescendingly.

Actors like Ayushman Khurana, Ranveer Singh have time and again said, they aspire to be the quintessential hindi film hero and with their own talent have made space for themselves.. however there can be only one SRK.. Am not his fan.. but I do admire the Man

While few of us may not think doing a chaiyya chaiyya is art , well its neither easy. Time and again good actors have pointed out doing Mass cinema, Indian cinema is HARD. A Pankaj Tripathi cannot pull of Dancing on a train.. its not expected of him.. but is expected of the quintessential Indian "Hero" Thats why artists who are true to their art form as actors are not good "heroes" That barrier is broken by a very few.. and those are the Indian Superstars.. You may not think of them as great "actors", or just hungry for craft.. they are hungry for the fame, love of their audience.. that fame and love is not craved by all artist either .. PC had to just give an answer and justify her move to Hollywood. Her trajectory is not same as SRK.. she said what she said and is doing mediocre work in Hollywood. Not taking away anything from her . she is an extremely hard working woman.. the comparison question itself is wrong.. Hollywood cannot handle an SRK.. they dont need him nor does he..
