Rohan Joshi and Tanmay Bhatt wrote for award shows.. the famous SRK and Ranbir dressed up as female dancers was written by them and how they found it cringe later.. after them Sahil Shah, Prakriti wrote for awards.. And fleetingly they said when they came up with the famous rapid fire question staple one season "if you had to have a gay encounter with someone at gun point " I think it's a collaborative effort and not contractual. I recently learned KWK is not owned by Karan Johar.. its owned by Hotstar. Its not his IP..

Now every film reporter does their own rapid fire and plays games, try to do what KJo did and sucked the fun out of it. AIB wrote for KwK, not any more. And Karan may be not taking his show seriously, but the media does. Its sadly how people started to cancel Ellen..

2023-10-05 14:51:55 +0000 UTCI think Ranbir has spoken out about the show’s format and how KJo keeps his show relevant through the content of the show where he basically makes his guests compete with each other and essentially gets them to say more than they intended to do so which in turn becomes fodder for the gossip mills. Basically he financially benefits from his guests and his guests dont get the same benefits. His guests dont usually come on his show to promote a movie like in the US and instead they are coming on his show on the strength of their relationship with KJo (this is the case for more establish actors) I think Ranbir discuses this in his chat with the now defunct AIB group

2023-10-05 08:37:16 +0000 UTCI remember Karan saying in an interview that Ranveer asked to see the final edit of his episode with Alia in case he wanted anything to be cut and when Karan told him not to take it so seriously, Ranveer's response was that KWK makes/breaks public perception. Actors are so careful & curated in their public appearances now which are micro-managed by their PR teams and the audience can sense that which has turned out to be negative for KWK since the fact that Karan could get his guests to open up and talk about stuff that they wouldn't otherwise was the USP of the show. I don't blame them though....the backlash on social media and people scrutinising your every word has made them more wary which is a shame.

2023-10-05 05:50:47 +0000 UTCPeople are not complaining because they want a serious show, they actually think it's not as entertaining as it used to be. The guest pairs used to be so exciting...now most of the episodes just have co-actors with an upcoming release like other promotional interviews. The guests are not as candid as they used to be (curse of social media outrage). Karan always used to ask a few personal questions but they used to discuss a lot of other fun stuff as well but now it's mostly about actors' dating & sex lives which becomes boring after a point.
