A couple of interesting things about KHKN:
1. This was one of the first movies SRK signed when he moved to Mumbai and it was actually shot & completed before Darr & Baazigar. However, the makers couldn't find distributors for a long time and it eventually released after SRK himself co-bought the film when he earned enough money from his previous movies.
2. Aamir Khan & Juhi Chawla (both of whom were stars by then) were supposed to play the leads initially but it didn't work out...Juhi eventually did the cameo at the end.

Aah ok...just wondered if we'd get a review from Rick too or whether he'd just stop watching SRK after Jawan ;-) . As for watch along with Steph...its just the best. She actually picks up or gets stuff which can be quite culture specific to India which Rick and sometimes you too miss out on. Steph has an Indian soul :-)

Nothing .. it's an observation..
Have been following OSR for a while and I notice how we think differently about film characters and their journey.
In this movie, now I saw it with you again, the subtitles were literal translations in many places. It sounds much harsher in English than the characters actually were..
In Sholay, there is this famous dialog of Veeru ( Dharmendra's character) "Kuttey, mein tera khoon pee jaunga" which literally translates to " you dog, I will drink your blood" ..:D just an example to describe how you cannot take certain dialogs as seriously as they seem at face value

It was a very short appearance with SRK, Aamir, Saif and Deepak in one frame

I love this movie. Have watched it countless times. But watching it now...seems like everyone was shouting out their dialogues. The pitch is just too loud. But story wise I still like it. Flawed character who actually has an arc, and is not rewarded for his mistakes. Also when this movie came out, every other movie glorified stalking girls and the "hero" never took rejection well. So this was an exception for the time.

Nice sweet old film. I enjoyed it but it took me time to understand why it's special in SRK's filmography. Quite unique hero, touching raw performance
I understand that Deepak Tijori was a popular actor in the 90s, playing often 2nd male lead but didn't manage to make it bigger. His film as a lead Pehla Nasha, Ashutosh Gowariker directorial debut (Swades, Lagaan), wasn't successful but is remembered for one scene - the only time SRK and Aamir Khan were together onscreen

Should watch Deewana. After interval. The most iconic scene of Indian cinema when SRK makes his entry for the first time in Bollywood. 🔥

Your explanation fits exactly what was the problem people thought was with Kabir Singh. Like he didnt deserve Preeti.
I am noticing a pattern and thats why this question-
Like in English Vinglish- you said Sridevi should have left her family for The french guy ..
In Rocky Rani review, when Rani raises her hand at Rocky's Dad, you didn't think it was wrong and you were on Rani's side..

It depends how severe what they did is and if they get instant redemption without consequences is when I don’t like it I’m aware people do it I just don’t like itJust a personal preference thing

Just finished watching the movie with you guys! It does feel like a slow movie now but its heart is in the place.
I mean its a story of a society and thats how Indian society was in the earlier years.. people got happy together, ppl got mad together , ppl were there for each other.
I have a question Korbin- i have noticed in your reviews, you usually do not like a change of heart.. why?
Don't people make mistakes and don't they deserve a second chance ?
