Humko Humise Chura Lo Song | Mohabbatein | Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai | REACTION!!!

Please do a watch along with Steph for this movie. Classic SRK! 😊

Richard

the story is OK.. just watch it for "The quintessential SRK"

Vishal Bhatt

I’m scared to watch this reaction because SRK “plays” the violin and there is Rick sitting right there. 😬

Kripa

This is a classic movie I don't revisit often, and when I do, I want to see the songs & SRK/Amitabh scenes, but I listen to this song ALL the time.

Vrithika

Don't think you missed much not rewatching it. I remember Waheeda Rahman from Guide and some later supporting characters, usually mothers/aunts

Aleksandra

The movie holds more for nostalgia and that “fresh,” youthful feel it had. But the story and treatment hasn’t necessarily stood the test of time. I enjoy watching it alone but not with other people. 😆🙈

I never repeated it after watching it then.. it was just not relatable. but I remember how SRK's dialogs and AB's dialogs were repeated then and today are kind of memes.. AB's career took a turn and for the better.. the only senior actor of his generation who is still relevant today.. Another senior actor that I love is Waheeda Rahman.. you may have seen her many times.. career wise she is senior than AB but O what grace!

Reva

Absolutely. Aditya Chopra's melodrama is much subtler. He definitely knew how to work with SRK to take out the best of him in their films

Aleksandra

Young actors were not for me particularly bad, just didn't connect much with their stories. Can even say that Uday Chopra had some charm. But overall this film for me is dated and flawed in too many ways to enjoy it as a whole

Aleksandra

I dont like this movie. But the song is iconic. Maybe Latajis most iconic song in the 2000s

Music to many classics like DDLJ, Kuch Kuch hota hain and many such 90s movies was by Jatin-Lalit. Their albums are still very popular and have that nostalgia factor. Sadly they are not talked about as much.. but Jatin Lalit ruled the charts in 90s and early 2000s and their music is still fresh..

Reva

Every time i see SRK "playing" that violin 😖 and he played a music teacher for gods sake.. The nonsense they showed us back in the day and got away with it..

Reva

💯 I remember when i saw it in the theater, i cringed every time the other 6 actors came on screen... It was only worth it because after a long time we saw AB on screen and playing a character other than the "hero" .

Reva

For me Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar represent diffrent kinds of melodrama. I prefer Aditya Chopra. I don't like some of KJo'S melodramatic tones. For me Mohabbatein in its tonality prooves it. But it's way too long and has some bizarre story-line, could never rewatch it as a whole. But I do like scenes between Amitabh Bachchan and SRK, pleasure to watch. Songs are great

Aleksandra

You absolutely nailed it!! I always feel bad when some people say not to watch it because they think they won’t like it. I honestly feel like if they can handle K3G and KKHH, they can definitely handle Mohabbatein. In my opinion, it is no where near as melodramatic as those two. And you would definitely get grounded performances from SRK, Amitabh, and Aishwarya all throughout. I really hope they do check it out!

I loved SRK and Big B in the film. It is their best film together. Other characters not so much. I do not want to watch this again as watchalong, but love to know your review.

Finally🥰🥰🥰

If academia doesn't work out (which, given the state of the job market, isn't altogether unlikely), I'll seriously consider this

Arush Pande

Sweet reaction.

Wish you could someday watch Aditya Chopra's DDLJ at the cinema. Maybe when you visit Mumbai. To see how fairy tale like it really is.

Par

You need to be a film critic!

Par

Befikre is a fun watch, songs are great.

Meena Malhotra

Lol the names are spelled in English so how can you not pronounce VAANI Kapoor and say Veena instead haha

Sanya Arif

Love this movie, love the songs! Please give it a watch :)

Tash

yes the movie has melodrama, but I feel like it’s way more grounded than a KJO film. In this one, you’re only going to get overacting and cringeness from the 6 newcomers they launched in this movie. Not from Big B, SRK, or Aishwarya, they’re all great in the movie. I would recommend for sure.

Couple of things to note. Even though you could say it's in the same vein as K3G melodrama-wise, I think Aditya Chopra's aesthetic is a lot subtler than Karan Johar's (Rick was kinda picking up on that with the colors, already). But also, there's a kind of slowness to his frames, ease in the camera movement, and he knows when to hold back on the music (i.e. doesn't overuse background music to create drama, something that KJo loves to do). Also, it's actually a very very subdued SRK performance, the kind y'all tend to like. He's a lot closer here to the Veer-Zaara zone, although there are different nuances to his character here. It's one of the only 2 times he won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor at Filmfare. And each of his scenes with Amitabh in the movie are just too good! You get some of the exaggerated 90s stuff, but it's from the comical characters (Anupam Kher and Uday Chopra, a little bit). Also, this was Jimmy Shergill's first movie, and he's just such a joy to watch!

I love this movie so much that I keep a Blu Ray, DVD and CD sealed as a tribute to this Gem ❤️ We definitely need a watchalong at some point 😊

Daniel Prakash
