2023-12-03 18:23:57 +0000 UTCThis wasn’t a documentary. The title itself makes it clear. I don’t why would you expect all facts. It’s not fair to compare this with what actually happened. They took cinematic liberties and most importantly the series is called “The Railway Men” not “Bhopal Gas Tragedy”. It was about how the railway employees saved lives during that night, it was about how government we not willing to help them and they did everything on their own, it tells you in the end what actually happened. A railway employee actually got up in the morgue. It was never about the tragedy, it was about the railway employees during that tragedy. Seriously disappointed in Rick.

2023-12-01 18:35:42 +0000 UTCThe Sikh incident was to show the earnest dedication of India’s Railwaymen back then and it was also show how so many things were unfolding simultaneously sociopolitically when this tragedy happened. As someone pointed out in this comments section, this wasn’t a documentary. Rick’s righteous indignation is so….NEVER MIND.

Gave me goosebumps that we are surrounded by such brave and good people all around without even realising. My respect for humanity increased 10 folded. Just from this series point of view - very bad direction. It was hard to sit through the whole series. Bad acting by everyone except of course the great Kay Kay. He was the saving grace and holding up against all odds. Greatest takeaway was the humanity factor for me.

2023-11-30 23:00:37 +0000 UTCOkay.. my bad… posted it in the wrong section… It sounds like you were expecting more of a documentary than a series… especially Rick… i think all the side stories worked in building different viewpoints of the story… yes it is about the gas leak…but it is the story of the railway men… not just that station in that town but all railway personnel involved in this incident… and that is the perspective/viewpoint brought out with some artistic liberty! IMO… i did not find them distracting rather it was an intricate construct of how multiple issues were colliding at the same time… just my thoughts!
