RR Removal + Going Forward

Unfortunately, Dungeons and Dalliances has been deleted from RoyalRoad. The moderator acknowledged that the % of sexual content is within their limits, but the story premise itself is too sexual. I would essentially have to rewrite the story to make it fit their guidelines.
Following this event, I’ve had to make some decisions on how to move forward. Those of you who’ve been around for a bit know that D&D was my attempt to move into RoyalRoad which has a larger audience, with the plan being to try to make a living with my writing. With D&D being deleted off RoyalRoad, clearly that goal is untenable.
That said, I need to clear up space in my writing schedule to pursue fiction that has potential as a career. I think there’s an audience for the erotica niche I want to write, but not large enough of one to make a living.
Patreon tiers and rewards won’t change, but by necessity, I’m slowing down the writing schedule to open up space for attempts at SFW fiction. Ascent is dropping to 2x weekly and Dalliances to 3x. Not a big change, but it gives me some breathing room for other stuff.

Really unfortunate that the story got taken down from royalroad. Kind of strange because I know of a few stories that are very popular with smut in them. :/

At least your not stopping your story which is a relief, I actually became a petrean due to D&D. (the rest is a bit of a rant so skip it if you want) Sometimes I wonder if little children are in charge of the rule, especially when you have violence / death in media being seen as OK, but seeing a tit is seen as taboo.... next thing you know well be back to the middle-ages ideology where your not even allowed to show your ankles. Lately too many things seem to be going backwards instead of forward in our society....

It would be fine for you to write, in extreme detail, an alternative scene where Nat and Co. murder the other group for their gear and frame it as the right thing to do, but writing about sex in a college setting is gross! A paladin of carnage and cannibalism is celebrate, but uhh... just make sure they're impotent.

That said, I completely understand needing to do what's required to pay the bills. I hope your situation changes to where you can put more focus on writing the things you want to write, and in the meantime I'll keep supporting you here to encourage your more spicy creations.

2023-05-21 00:32:44 +0000 UTCAlso, if you still want a site with a bigger audience, you could try AO3. They won’t take your content down unless it somehow violates US law, and I believe since you’d be writing original fiction, there wouldn’t be any problems with linking to your patreon.

2023-05-20 14:17:58 +0000 UTCRIP, I had noticed it was off of rising stars earlier but thought that it had just aged out or something. I'm mostly here for Ascent because I had liked Unexpected Blessings but it's a shame to hear that D&D isn't working out.
