The story/screenplay of Zero is designed as an 'absurdist fantasy' which in itself is difficult to sell to a mainstream audience but they also failed in the execution in the 2nd half where they took it too far left field that it became jarring & unpalatable towards the end....there were too many new things for the audience to adjust to in Zero including the fact that not only does SRK play a little person in a romance but also an abrasive & unsympathetic character. STRONG POINTS - SRK & Katrina's performances; first-of-its kind world-class vfx & other technical aspects; a novel concept & storyline WEAK POINTS - They went too far with the outlandishness which didn't land well especially in the latter part; Anushka's performance. Irrespective of everything else, it will remain one of the most courageous & unconventional attempts by a Bollywood star.
