My take on this movie is that, Dileep killed Luke's wife and stole his money partly for himself and partly for his mom. Luke clearly has PTSD and still hears the same alarm sounds when he gets PTSD. He comes to the village for revenge. First, Luke tries to damage the house because he heard that the house was Dileep's biggest dream come true. He does that hoping to bring him out. But it didn't work well. (He also keeps the car in such a sorry state specifically to irritate Dileep. Sujata does ask Luke why he doesn't fix up the house. He never intends to.) Luke goes to Balan's (Dileep's father) funeral and overstays for a while (causing Sujata to ask 'why is he still here') which is when he first sees Dileep in the house. Then Luke moves on to shut down his factory, then get Sujata angry cuz, he realizes that that's the next thing he cares most about. And once he manages to turn Sujata against him, Luke realizes that the last thing left for him is his mom and brother. Luke does ask him "where will you go once you have nowhere to go anymore?" And Luke also says "I own him now." In a sense that, he has nowhere else to go anymore. (Remember when he said "if I had the chance, I wouldn't have killed him, I would have caged him and starved him. Maybe he would have wagged his tail like a dog, right?") So when his mom too hangs herself, we see a really distorted pov that walks away from the mom's body to Luke's cell. And he's saying "Welcome back" to Dileep. All of this could have been a figment of his imagination too, because everything from the moment he he stepped out of the car accident was weird, especially the scene where Luke was wearing the mask.

I was so damn sure that Eric will love it, but was not so sure about Korbin.I am so happy that my prediction became true.For me this is the most underrated movie of Mammootty in recent years. My take is that it happened in reality after he became insane in the white room torture.

2024-02-22 19:31:47 +0000 UTCAgreed with you that I also dont think it all happened in his head. I believe that he may have been institutionalized after his wife was murdered but seems to have come out later. To me this film is Luke continually seeking revenge from Dileep and beyond the grave.

2024-02-22 17:40:25 +0000 UTCThis is my theory and SPOILER ALERT… Luke completely destroyed Dileep… he has no fame in his hometown, his wife no longer wants to be associated with any thing that his looted money had touched and also does not have any feelings for him or missing him anymore… his family is completely destroyed… KEY Point here is his MOM… both Dileep and Anil are her extensions… she says proudly that they did all this for her…that she is the ROOT of all this… and Mammootty establishes that she is where this all began.. he wanted to remove every inch of this vile family… in the end… POV is Dileep’s mother after she has hanged herself… coming down from where she was hanging and starts to move witnessing everything around her in a different dimension and finally seeing Mammootty who recognizes Dileep’s mother and says “ Welcome Back”! Sort of letting her see what has happened around her and in doing so Luke accomplished what he set out to do… I dont think this is all happening in his head… i felt like the asylum scene was a distraction… deliberately throwing it our way to make us think that… just my opinion… I am glad you guys enjoyed this a lot! Looking forward to the next one!
