September Release Preview

Patron Download Link: (Will be up in the afternoon of the 1st)

Thank you to all our patrons, old and new, for another wonderful month! It's truly amazing that we can do this with everyone's support, and every day we're grateful for everyone's comments, photos, and banter. When we see everyone enjoying their prints and paints, it makes all the hard work worth it! Please keep sharing your photos and comments on social media, on the Patreon posts, and in our Discord - it gives us the energy to power through the tough projects, and also helps to spread the gospel of Cobra far and wide.

Speaking of the Discord, if you haven't yet joined, you should! Paid patrons just need to add their Discord account to their Patreon dashboard, and the bot will drop you into the Cobra Chat: https://www.patreon.com/settings/apps

If you're not a paid patron, you can still join the open channels through this link: https://discord.gg/N8HFAAnfeQ

September is another Moth Month, which I hope everyone is excited for! The Twilight Forest Faction was our 3rd most popular faction in our last poll, after the Mikata Wetlands Amphibians and the Boondaburrans. We've expanded on the two warring sides of the Mothfolk with some Fidelium and some Noctuoidea. The Twilight Forest has some of the deepest lore out of all our factions, so make sure you check out the CobraCompendium's section on them to find out their secret history...

The bases and terrain were created by Kittifizz and Calrais as usual, with amazing concept art by Paul Ferret. And our stats are created by Conflux Creatures. Unfortunately there is a delay on releasing them because our layout artist OddballOwlBear got a full time job! Congrats! I'll be slowly working on them myself until I can find a new layout artist to fill his shoes. If anyone knows how to lay out text and graphics in our Affinity Designer template, send me an email at andrea(at)cobramode.com :)

I'm setting up some Cross-Promos this month also, so make sure to keep your eyes out for those. Please go to the Patron Download Dropbox link and download the August Cross-Promos before the end of the month, as those will not be uploaded to MMF.

As always, you can see all of our previous lore on the CobraCompendium, along with a numbered listing of our official releases: https://bit.ly/3om6snO

Here's this month's Lore:

"A fortress of defense is the foundation upon which the tides of battle break."
Neria - Noctuoidea Decertator

The Decertators are heavily armored knights who fight with sword and shield. They aren’t typically mounted despite the weight of their armor, as they usually form the front line of an attack, protecting lightly armored archers or mages behind their ranks. Neria is a skilled warrior, used to being in the thick of battle. Her calm, patient style of defense has served her very well. Though Decertators have a reputation for not lasting long, either dying or taking career-ending wounds far more frequently than other companies, Neria is a veteran of five battles. This is an unprecedented number for her ilk, and has earned her the moniker “The Fortress”

The mages of Divalia wield spells as delicate as moonbeams, illuminating the night with shimmering magic.
Anthyria, Noctuoidea Mage

The mages of Divalia are revered among the Noctuoidea, and reviled by the Fidelium. Magic is the source of their rift, and the dividing factor between them. Though the Noctuoidea hold that magic is their divine right and the source of their greatness, it was also undoubtedly the cause of their near extinction thousands of years prior. Ever conscious of this, Anthyria seeks balance between the magic that nearly destroyed them, and the natural world that the Fidelium protect and merge with. She has been striving for peace and understanding between the two sides, and dances dangerously close to what Noctuoidea consider Heresy because of it. Thankfully her status as a mage has protected her, as mages are more highly valued than priestesses due to their closeness to the nature of their goddess.

Nature becomes a playground for a child, riding upon the back of a loyal beetle.
Mimas, Fidelium Child and Nanny Beetle

Children of the Fidelium are typically cared for by a Nanny Beetle, a species they’ve bred to recognize Fidelium children as their own. The Nanny Beetles protect, groom, and gather food for their charges. When Fidelium children mature, they stop producing the pheromones recognized by the Nanny Beetle, and it will move onto another child. Mimas is getting close to the age where his Nanny Beetle will leave him, but for now they’re inseparable.

His heavy bladed lance bit deep into an enemy’s torso, just as the Cervus’ pincers severed the opposing knight clean at the waist. He flung the dismembered half behind him grimly to feed the host that followed.
Riodin, Fidelium Knight and Cervus Beetle Mount

Riodin is a valiant knight of the Fidelium, who wields a unique double-ended lance from atop his Cervus Beetle mount. Heavily armored, he uses the momentum of beetle and rider to pierce his enemies, generally attacking larger creatures or armored opponents. It is only through this massive momentum that Fidelium spears (grown from chitin), are able to pierce the specially forged armor of the Noctuoidea, which is made from metals mined from Divalia’s corpse. Fidelium arms and armor are always created through biological means, as they are opposed to using magic for forging, and believe mining their fallen goddess for metals is heretical. Riodin is a capable and fearsome fighter, and battles faithfully against the Noctuoidea or any beasts that threaten the Fidelium strongholds. But he holds doubts about the purity of their cause; he was once saved by a mage of the Noctuoidea, and he cannot forget her nor her kindness in his time of need.

Comments

Thank you so much!

Didn't have the chance to comment sooner, but your buggies are always top tier

Gorgonbones

Hmm, does your computer have enough space left on it for the downloads? Or if you're downloading to Dropbox, does your Dropbox account have enough space?

No, I download each folder individually. Still the throwbacks are shown as too big.

Are you trying to download all the throwbacks together as one zip? That might make it too large. Usually we recommend to download each folder individually to avoid issues.

Anybody else who has problems with the download? I get the message that the zip file is too big for a download (for all throwback models. The current release is fine)

Maybe in a future release :D

I'd very much like a mini with just the rider that's on the back of that giant beetle.

❤️❤️❤️

Can't wait to see!

Every single one of these is a home run!

Stellar pack, super keen to try and print them out. Won't be using these any time soon (and certainly not before I get a resin printer) so I'll be printing a couple at display size 😁

Oooo this my favorite one in awhile. I love the insect themed drops.
