I agree. He is a person who has accepted and adapted quickly to change and kept his worldview open. It's evident, that he knows how valuable the audience's attention is. If you don't adapt quickly people might forget. Just look at how fast the industry and demand has changed.

So like "Mohammed Kutty" became Mammootty, "Mohammed ikka" became Mammookka. The hard consonants usually get dropped in such terms. So people effectively call him elder brother, which is a term of honor and love. You can imagine why he loves to be called that way! Interestingly, Mohanlal is called "Laletta", (Lal + "etta", meaning elder brother in malayalam). So both these malayalee super stars have an endearing appeal to their fans.
