However, it’s an Aparna Sen directorial, so you’re still missing on a Rituparno Ghosh movie even after all these years 😂 Hope you don’t take another 5 years to get to one by him 😉 That would be a shame fs :) Some facts: 1. This is not your first Aparna Sen directed movie. You have watched Parama (with Rakhee Gulzar) before, which you both loved. 2. Aparna was not there in Apur Sansar (from the Apu Trilogy). The character playing Soumitra Chatterjee’s (Apu) wife was named Aparna but was played by Sharmila Tagore (Saif’s mother). 3. Great point by Rick bringing in the North / South divide or cultural difference in Kolkata / among Bengalies. It is real, very prevalent & relevant till this day.
