Jinx
Added 2024-11-27 21:40:41 +0000 UTCWhen I first saw Jinx in a music video more than ten years ago, I almost immediately decided to create a doujinshi for her (at the time, I was collaborating with another artist, and the book’s success was essentially thanks to her).
Even though I’ve never played League of Legends, she was simply too dazzling in that MV.
In an instant, she reminded me of Dee Dee from Dexter’s Laboratory—that carefree and destructive whirlwind.
Now, over a decade later, with her having a proper story, everything feels much less joyful.
It’s like the sudden shift from LEGO Joker to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
That contrast is still something I’m not quite used to.

I think it was a Jinx that the art I got to know about you many years ago, I’m glad I can see you here now. The easy example to understand your thoughts about jinx. I felt almost same way when I watched arcane 1st season, she was darker than I was expected. Well… I’m glad to see your Jinx again though!

2024-11-27 22:26:09 +0000 UTCIf you’ve watched arcane, she’s definitely more of a carefree and destructive whirlwind in the first couple acts but at the beginning of season 2 she totally gets more mellow/joker-like. That said that doujin was top tier and my first introduction to your works and it’s still of my my favorites.
