Baby JK gets me every time. The idea that he left home at 13, signed away the entire remaining span of his teenage years to a relatively unknown company, and moved into a one-bedroom dorm with a handful of older teenagers (who were complete strangers at the time)… it’s WILD. How fortunate that they all turned out to be kind and nurturing, and he ended up with the most amazing pack of big brothers. These days, the mom in me worries about how he is handling the hiatus from group activities. The drinking alone on livestreams, getting all in his feels, even falling asleep… he seemed, for at least a few weeks there, to be struggling. When you get down to it, being a part of a group and having his daily schedule dictated to him is all he’s known since he was a literal child. And on top of that, he’s been having so many issues with sasaengs lately, he’s practically trapped in his own home. I just hope it’s all been worth it for him. 🥺

2023-06-01 08:29:10 +0000 UTCBecause JK is the main vocalist and centre they tended to gave most of the line distribution to him in the earlier years As the years have progressed you see the others highlighted more and it took them a few more years to realise Jins true potential. Even to this day if you watch line distribution videos you will see that JK tops the percentage on most of them but that's not because he is singing the main parts, it's all the backing vocals and ad libs he ads that he gets credited for.

As others have said, the line distribution wasn't always super even in the beginning, but it's evened out some as they all grow into their voices. They have said in later years that they choose the line distribution by whose voice fits best in each song. There are two hidden tracks on the album, "Skit: On the Start Line" and "Path". You can find them both on YouTube if you want. I giggled when you said, "They were all legal, right?" Ummm... no. The album released in June 2013; in international age, Jin and Suga were 20, J-Hope was 19, RM was 18, Jimin and V were 17 and Jungkook was 15. I don't know when each song was written so they all could have been younger when they created and recorded "Like". I love the skits for the little glimpses into their personalities where they were just being silly and being themselves. I don't know if you noticed in "Skit: Circle Room Talk" where they were all talking about their dreams before debut, and Jungkook said that he didn't remember that well. He was 13 when he moved into the dorms; Suga has said that JK came in so young he wasn't fully formed yet. I think of my own kids at that age, and it's heartbreaking to realize just how much Jungkook (all of them, really) gave up to pursue this ONE thing. Anyway, I look forward to the next step in your journey. Since you're not new to K-Pop, it's been interesting to hear your comments from a different perspective along the way. I just hope that along the way you are happy here! 💜💜💜

Old Skool BTS(as I call their rookie years) has a special place in my heart💜Their early albums are some of my favs. "DARK AND WILD ", " O RU L8 2 " are my most played and live in my car CD 💿 player. Those albums are heavy Rap, Hip Hop and R&B. It's their roots and those roots are still strong today. All their recent solo projects: Hobi's Arson and Lollapalooza performance, Suga's D- Day album and concert, Jimin's "Set Me Free" and "Like Crazy" and RM'S "Indigo" are pure OG BTS. I for one thought right out of the box BTS had so much talent, charisma, chemistry and soul. I am 75 years old grew up on Rock and Roll and R&B and I have seen all the greats Sinatra, Elvis, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Smokey Robinson, Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Motown, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson. My kids introduced me to NWA, Eminem, Cypress Hill, Tupac, Snoop Dog etc. BTS made me fall in love with music again. No one, no one are making these kinds of beats, bars, melodies, meaningful lyrics, mixing and doing any genre today. I love your reactions you're so sincere in your appreciation of great music. His mom was a realtor and dad worked for the power company. He has a little sister. From what I know he was a super smart student and had the potential to have a great career doing something normal, but after becoming an Epik High fan, all he wanted to do was rap. His parents weren’t the happiest about this, but in the end, they supported him. Line distribution - You are correct. Jimin had the shortest training period, only six months, and he came in with no singing experience. He tried to become a rapper, but Yoongi told the management he had no talent for it and needed to become a singer. In these early albums, Jimin was really finding his way. They kept writing to his lower register, not realizing he has this phenomenal high register hiding in there. Lucky for us, he worked it all out. I love that they included the skits. It really introduces their personalities.
