I-Land Episode 7 - Reaction

First of all, I was living for the BTS moment and the advice they gave all the beans. Secondly, the RANKINGS. I was SHOOK but super happy for some of my kids like Daniel and Taki. I think they have been extremely underrated the whole show so far.
BUT....THE TEA. K and Sunoo.....I FEEL SOME SHADE AND I'M LIVING FOR THE DRAMA.

Yup it’s all editing. The other members definitely commented on the rankings in their individual interviews(they included a single sentence from Jungwon sharing the same sentiments as K) but only K’s footage and interviews were included and focused on as a documentary narrative. It completely sucks because K’s feelings are valid. BUT when the editing only focuses on his comments and not everyone else who thought the SAME THING it makes him seem like a bad guy and the only one thinking it. Like the editors got me too and I was emotionally manipulated by it and had an off feeling about K even in future episodes because Sunoo is my bias. But I realized what was happening eventually and shut that shit down in my own brain when I saw posts on twitter where other eggies(our fan name during the show) combed through the live cctv footage they put online(no audio) and synced up reactions and proved that K’s head shake was NOT in response to Sunoo’s rank announcement. Those subtle narrative shifts with editing can make a huge impact and it’s just kind of nasty because no one deserves that. All these diverse sides and emotions are there for each trainee but we will only ever see what the editors want us to.

2021-09-24 21:25:51 +0000 UTCidk why the video doesn't work for me 😭 EDIT : its fine now I opened it through another browser i feel like the editing just made some of them look bad, like K. its known that we can't expect rankings to be predictable because there can be plot twists anytime. (not an intended spoiler 🙃) And I think its ok to feel salty because of that, so idk why they had to display K in such a bad light. Also the members of Fake Love might feel a bit pressured. You see they got chosen by Taki so they really haven't got a choice and they've got assigned to a difficult song then being critisised by the producers. So I did feel a little bad for them but also believed in them.

2021-09-21 21:10:15 +0000 UTCi understand how everyone feels after the voting tho cuz these boys have been locked in here and even in the hiatus without any outside connection for months, no phones, no calls etc. they have 0 idea how the public percieves them and obv according to them they will be judged based on perfomances and skill so they only know ranking as they have been so far by the producers. the voting brings shock cuz now they have no idea what they are being judged on. love sunoo trying to hide his happiness like go king.

2021-09-21 20:52:33 +0000 UTCNow, I’m pretty sure Mnet’s evil editing is just trying to make K look bad, but I can understand some of his frustration. Now, I have absolutely nothing against sweetheart Sunoo and I think he has worked extremely hard to get to where he is, but, if I were K and I saw that all of the first place benefits was given to someone that has been in Ground most of the time, then I would be pretty upset too because it just feels a little unfair. Once again, absolutely nothing against Sunoo and I think he deserves it, but you know, we’re all human and we can’t help but feel that way if we were K. That’s just my take on the situation.
