My First VK Concert
Added 2017-10-21 11:29:53 +0000 UTCSo Greg and I just watched a visual kei concert together tonight, the group was Virge. I hadn’t heard of them before but Greg wanted someone to join him so I thought why not!
If you’re not familiar with visual kei I guess it could be described as a combination of Japanese rock/metal/melodic ballads and the thing that makes it ~visual~ is how the groups dress and their epic makeup and hairstyles. Just google visual kei and you’ll see what I mean! :)
But anyways this was the STRANGEST experience ever!! I was wondering if there would be headbanging, since it doesn’t really seem like a “Japanese” thing to do at a concert... the other concerts I’ve been to everyone was relatively quiet compared to concerts back in Canada. But there was headbanging!! HOWEVER!! It was all choreographed!! It was so strange. Everyone moved their head at the same time in the same direction, and there were hand movements to go along with some of the songs. I felt really out of place because I had no idea what to do haha. But the music was great! Really enjoyed the show!! :D
