Half year report

Just like last year, we're gonna do a mid year report. So we will talk about the work we have done from January 1st to June 30th. 

The current work we have released so far this year is as follows:

-5 Hamtaro episodes, three of which were subbed by our collaborator Prayash.
-7 Hamtaro revamped episodes.
-5 Jewelpet Sunshine episodes, completing the season.
-1 episode of the first season of Jewelpet, in collaboration with Stardust Fansubs.

Given our objectives for 2020 we have completed about half of them.

Well, first of all we think it's a bit of cheating that we count Prayash's episodes as ours, but we did help with translation and timing check so we decided to add them regardless. However we are aware that we have left Hamtaro subs a little on the side for this semester, so we plan to fix that in the second half of the year.

The ammount of revamped episodes is high because honestly it's rather easy to work on them, it provides some "warm up" experience before moving on bigger projects and proofs that we're still working on something so your support on Patreon doesn't go to waste. However we are aware that what you crave are new episodes, so we will slow down on the revamped episodes for a bit and keep it to one a month at most.

We are very pleased to have finished Jewelpet Sunshine, and even though it took some time to revisit all episodes and release a perfected "version 2" of them, we are quite happy with the result. That was truly an adventure!

And, since Stardust Fansubs decided to pick up again on the original series, we can see our work halved and just focus on translating, they will take care of timing, encoding and all the tedious parts.

You would have expected the coronavirus crisis to have allow us more time to be at home and work on subbing, but actually it was more like the contrary. André personally had to work extra due the nature of his business, which forced him to work even on weekends for the three last months. Luckily work has been going back to the usual pace and he can take some more time on subbing.

With all this said, let's take a look at the plans for the second half of 2020:
-Sub 10 Hamtaro episodes.
-Sub the Hiragana and Shape and Numbers Hamtaro specials.
-Sub the original Jewelpet season, following up the collaboratin with Stardust Fansubs.
-Revamp at most 6 previously translated Hamtaro episodes.
-Revamp at least 1 of the Hamtaro movies and 1 of the OVAs.
-Study the possibility of subbing other series related to the “kodomo” group.
-If a new Hamtaro series shows up, translate it in the shortest time possible as a full-fledged sub team would do.
-Try to create a “stream event” where we subtitle live.
-Promote Patreon and Ko-Fi more to increase our patrons.
-Create a specific website, outside of Ham-Ham Paradise, for Paradise Hamsubs.  

The bottom half is just something we have been dragging for a while and it will just be there so we don't forget.

Since we're done with Jewelpet Sunshine, we will be able to focus more on Hamtaro again. Since we worked so little on actual episodes for the last semester, we want to get back to it and provide a whole lot of new episodes for you to watch.

We also want to work on the specials and get a movie and OVA out this year, as we missed the chance last year.

And as you can see, we set our maximum of revamped episodes to 6 for what remains of this year, so we don't just spam those and don't get any actual work done.
