Hello new patrons!

What are you hoping to learn, understand, or accomplish with music? What kind of guitar do you have? What do you like to play? That kind of stuff!
If you haven't already, check out my Where to Start page - it helps explain how things work around here. Also, check out the recommended lesson plan. I'll be back to regular Office Hours next Thursday the 20th at 10AM. Of course, look out for another lesson on Monday, and the weekly Community Challenge on Tuesday. See you soon!

I'm new, and my name is Owl. I can play dozens of songs and have written and recorded some of my own. my goal is to learn music theory and apply it to my song writing. My guitar is a jazzmaster and I've been playing for almost two years. I enjoy Scott's teaching style. It is engaging and easy to understand but I know I will have a question sooner or later :) โฎ๏ธ

2025-05-22 10:44:54 +0000 UTCHello everybody, my name is Brandon I have been a mediocre guitarist (at best ๐) not progressing for at least 10 years after my band dissolved. I caught a video from you Scott as I picked my guitar back up and it was like fireworks in my brain finally making connections of how the guitar actually works. I played by ear and had another guitarist in my band that knew all the theory so I didnโt have to think. I play a Telecaster that I stripped and built when I was 20. Iโm so glad to learn how to actually play this thing AND know what Iโm doing, haha. Thanks Scott! Youโre a fantastic teacher. Looking forward to interacting with everyone else here as well.
