Hi Everyone,

Ear training is hard, and it's even harder without examples of how to do it.

I'd like to try a regular (maybe monthly?) session where I listen to a song I've never heard, then go through by ear and figure out what key it's in, what the chord progression is, and whats going on with the main riff/melody. I'll show you the techniques I use for figuring out the key and some helpful ear training tips. Then once I figure out whats going on, I can do a music theory analysis to talk about the chord progression and how it relates to the bassline, rhythm parts, and melody.

Basically an ear training/song analysis combo lesson.

I need your help though - what songs would you like me to analyze? I can put a few that I've heard but haven't yet bothered to figure out. Any genre is ok, but lets avoid anything with blatant adult language. This will be fun!
