New here? Wondering where to start? Click here for my Patreon start page, or here for my recommended lesson plan.

Hi Everyone,

You missed this one, but you can always ask a question on the Office Hours community forum thread.

Here are the timestamps:

Question 1 - Jesse asked for some tips for small handed folks

Question 2 - Wayne asked two questions: How to track progress and how to start playing with other people. I'm starting a little series about playing with other people

Question 3 - Ray asked how not to panic and draw a blank when someone asks you to play something!

Question 4 - Jeffrey asked how to properly copyright a song

Question 5 - Mark asked how to visualize triads on the fingerboard

Question 6 - Jeff asked for tips on mixing vocals in a DAW

Question 7 - we just kind of hung out for a while and I asked for feedback on Patreon layout and stuff

Sweet jesus I have been resting on my palm for 10 years this is such a massive help already. All the other tips also worked amazing as well especially the distance to the fret thing. Thank you 1000x

Hi Scott, thanks for your time. You have produced your own music and I was wondering, what steps can you take to ensure that you have properly copyrighted any original music your produce?

Jeffrey Snijder

Hi Scott. How do you stop that rabbit in the headlights feeling when someone asks you to play your guitar for them? I tend to freeze and everything I've learned goes out the window. What is the best go-to thing to play in this situation?

Hi Scott, As I've been able to get into a good practice routine over the last several months, I've noticed some real improvement in both my playing and being able to play more musically as well. As a friend put it succinctly "don't just be a guitar player, be a musician whose instrument is a guitar." Cool stuff to think about. So my question is, firstly, what's a good way to track progress? I've been doing some simple phone recordings of myself and watching them after a few weeks of practice to see if i notice improvement, but was wondering what your thoughts on gauging improvement could be. Second, do you have advise on when it's a good idea to get out and play with others at things like open mike's? At my age, 62 and playing since mid 50's, I have no dreams of being a performing musician, but I'd love to be able to get together with other musicians and have fun. I've seen groups playing at local pubs/restaurants and would like to get to that place in my knowledge and skill where I can join in. In your experience is a certain "level of skill" needed? Thanks

Jesse asked: Love these lessons but im struggling a bit with my small hands :/. Playing on an acoustic probably doesn't help much either.
