OFFICE HOURS 125 | favorite guitars, loop pedals, recording vocals, ukuleles

New here? Wondering where to start? Click here for my Patreon start page, or here for my recommended lesson plan.

Hi Everyone,

Here were the questions this week:

Question 1: Ray was wondering what my favorite guitars are, if there are low budget versions, and what other gadgets were useful.

Question 2: Jonatan had questions about loop pedals - how to start layering and adding bass lines and melodies.

Question 3: Jeff was wondering how to set up to record vocals and how to practice singing, though I forgot the second part of your question, Jeff! Sorry about that.

Question 4: Tobias had questions about ukuleles - strings, models, tuning, chords, etc.

Catch the next one to ask your own questions!

Very nice. Lots of people like these kinds of amps!

I have a line 6 spider v mkII amp. It has drum loops a built in looper, inputs for playing with others and literally about 60 customizable presets. I have zero need for anything but the amp

Hey Scott, hey Community. I know we're talking guitar here :) but I wonderd if you could give me a quick overview about the Ukulele? What kind of Models are there around? Strings? Tuning? Even some Chords? Thanks and greetings from Switzerland. Tobias

Hi Scott. Started playing around with a looper pedal that also has a drum machine (Felt so confident after going through a few of your theory lessons :-). One of my guitar goals is to be able to create my own backing tracks and do some improvisation over it ufff!!. My question is, if you have any suggestions on what to think/do when trying overdub over a chord progression. Maybe how to add bass lines, or smalls riffs, melodies, etc.?

Jonatan Rojas

Apart from an amp and metronome what other gadgets are must-haves?

Hi Scott. What is your favourite acoustic guitar and why? Same question for the electric. Are there low budget versions which you would recommend?
