In this lesson, we're taking the rules from the previous lesson and applying them to multiple chords, paying close attention to the transfer points between chords.
Check out the PDF below to follow along and study the phrases we cover in this lesson.
The homework is in three sections, and I've attached a separate jam track for each section. Feel free to write more than 12 phrases if you want more practice!
Also, you can use this jam track from my SPJ Jam tracks channel for homework 1 if you want to.
Post your homework (or just record your favorite phrases) to the community forum.

2025-06-09 22:35:44 +0000 UTCScott I am new to your patreon online school, and I would not be here is I did not find you to be a gifted individual with your teaching skills, and ability to present music in such a way to be understood, followed and easily digested my my old brain.

2024-01-16 20:57:56 +0000 UTCI find it interesting how these melodies often play with where they land on the R,3,5. Falling in love is walking down at the end but traversing up from R,3,5. Gives it more substance to me.

Then I see you live as human Scott and we can actually interact a bit through chat and it breaks that wall down a little. It's kind of surreal but your authenticity bridges the gap. However, It must be difficult for you not getting direct feedback on these lessons. I think you are pioneering a new way of teaching music that is accessible to anyone. You have affected my life for the better. How can we best support you and express our appreciation.

2023-07-26 17:10:56 +0000 UTCScott, I’m sure even if a lot of people aren’t sharing their homework, (like me) they appreciate your lessons and all the hard work you obviously put into them. You are an amazing teacher so your morale should be super high. Thank you ! It’s literally better than therapy
