My grandfather was born in 1937 & side of family is from SC & actually told me his uncle was given land & farm animals on top of owed wages,reparations. But the prices & taxes in SC went up until him and other fortunate black families had to sell their land, etc or couldn't pay & was forced into foreclosure, bankruptcy,etc...
