The Doctor Who Podcast - Episode 1

Here's the first in a 2(?) part series where I run down EVERY episode of Doctor Who starting with 2005's relaunch. Starts with a bit of an introduction into the show so if you've never seen Doctor Who you can still follow on! Enjoy!

Coming back to this after the Chibnall era when Dan has gone back to Series 4 and really likes it now is good character development

Matthew C

I totally disagree with midnight on everything but especially the rewatchability of it. That is almost definitely my most rewatched episode because i love the mystery behind it and the tenseness and every time i go back i relive it all again

D&D Lemur

I understand how you feel about series 8+ but I love Capaldi and some of the stories are pretty good. It's truly a shame we couldn't get what Capaldi truly could've offered.

Lucas C

Omg my memory and timeline of doctor who as a kid is so backwards and weird?

Mattsratdanfan

I think it'd be cool if instead of focusing on a single show, he talked about different shows and what works for TV scripts and stuff

Seems he's put the split where I stopped watching because I thought it went a bit rubbish. But that was quite a nice trip down memory lane.

Mike Jones

I loved Doctor Who so much... That was until we had Emoji Robots as our villains. Urgh.

Actually Class was written by a 45 year old man, my favourite author haha

AkeShuShu

That was a great listen. I'm excited for part two. Series 5 is my favorite as well.

Matthew Doney

Was anybody else hoping that in the outro, Dan would jump in and start going "OOOOH WHEE OOOOH"

This was very cool please do more!

Love this! Any chance of a Sherlock edition?

7-3=BRILLIANT FUCKING EPISODE!

Alex Myagkov

That was fucking amazing

Awesome, patreoned mainly to listen to this podcast because Nerdcubed + Doctor Who = Heaven! Disagreed with you on a few points, but hey that's life and i'm still scarred by the Blink.

i really want more of the fallout who

NB_medic

The monster Peter Kay played the absorbaloff was a blue Peter compatition winner.

I WANT MORE!

What sci fi night your dad sounds awesome my dad doesn't even know what sci fi is.

I am 16 I watched the empty child when it came out it still huants my fucking nightmares

TBurnip

Oh man, when the doomsday theme started playing I almost cried

Aaron Place

Woo hoo! This should give me perspective on where to start Doctor Who.

SammyToesis

"Torchwood is doctorwho, but adult." Isn't that also just Class?

Jack zannder

Amazing Dan! Listened to all of it!!

Codey Miller

This is great can't wait for part 2 and would defiantly love one where you cover all the classics 5 parts id say

So much like for this series. This alone makes the patreon money worth it!

Jackie

So many of these early episodes I completely forgot about. This is great, thanks!

EB

mmmmmm floppy knobs. but seriously, really enjoyed this. was about to unpatreon because of lack of money and not a whole lotta perks but im ok with this :)

Gabriel Moody

This was brilliant! loved it. cant say i agreed with all of it but a genuinely good listen. looking forward to part 2

Dan you have made me want to watch doctor who now excuse me whilsr i binge watch it on netflix

Brad

My mum doesn't like river song.

Sandwich247

I was listening to this whilst playing Elite dangerous and the end music came on just as I was jumping from one sector to another and it matched so perfectly I had the biggest of nerdgasms.

Jacob Hardy

I agree and disagree with you on bits of this. My least favorite doctor is Matt Smith, I thought he was too silly, and a lot of episodes you said you didn't like I did. But I think that's what's great about doctor who, people can still disagree but all love the same programme.

TheShyBiGuy

Cool

Sandwich247

One thing I did like about Boom Town was the sletheen said that the doctor doesn't care about the consiquesces of his action, next episode shows a distopia caused by the doctor wipeing out the news

leigh hammersley

the word is buffalo

leigh hammersley

So me and my friends just started recording a weekly Doctor Who podcast but I guess we are obselete now this is here.

Jacob Hardy

I would add Spearhead from Space (first episode in coulour, with John pertwee, and of seires 7) is a good jumping on point for old who

leigh hammersley

I chose a good time for a rewatch

leigh hammersley

That ending was perfect

Darythe Hill

What is your favorite Score for Doctor Who? Mine is Capaldi's Rock one.

Bloojay

Fascinating to hear rational thoughts on all the episodes of Ten that I missed. Anyway, I imprinted on Nine, but that first series of Eleven is indeed a great one.

Diane Frank

I never thought i watched alot of dr who, but listening to this made me realise i watched about 5 more episodes than i thought

Definitely not spoiler free but a good listen.

George Farren

In Smith and Jones the Judoon platoon upon the moon line was their just because David Tennant had trouble saying those sounds in his English accent

Shawn Lindsay

Well there is my work music fir the day thabks dan

PixelsInSpace
