Let's Talk About Revenue

You've probably noticed that as YouTube becomes more of an advertisement wasteland I've been trying to add a bunch more revenue streams to my life. I've had my eggs in the YouTube basket for too long and it's time I threw some into the baskets marked with things like "Twitch" and "That secret project I've not even slightly mentioned yet."

When it comes to revenue I've always avoided is brand deals (and I'll continue to, I find them mostly gross TBH) and affiliate stuff. It's important to me that I stay honest in my videos and that developers never have to pay any kind of fee to get me to play thier games. I'm not going to "sell" games through Twitch because I have no idea where my cut comes from. On Steam a developer gets 70% of the money when you buy a game. Any less than that isn't something I'm interested in.

This is where Chrono.gg comes in. If you've not heard of it, it's a daily deal kind of site with a single game each day that changes every 24 hours. They work directly with indie devs and are building up a name for themselves as a decent site to work with.

Last night (Actually very early this morning. Sleep is elusive right now) I had a chat with the CEO of the company about the potential of working with them. This idea was suggested to me by TB who has been working with them for the past year or so. We came up with an agreement and I want to share these terms with you guys before anything gets signed. I think it's important that you guys know what's up before anything happens. Transparency is important in things like this.

1. The Devs get a 70% cut of all sales like normal. I would only take from Chrono's side.

2. I never have to cover anything. Ever. I can sign today and never mention anything about it again.

3. It'll never be mentioned or used on the channel. I'll only use the link when an old game I've previously said I like is on sale. That means the only place this will effect is the odd #Ad tweet and possibly on streams if people wish to see the game again on it's sale day. I won't play a new game on sale day to promote it. This will just be for games I've already said are good.

4. I have been offered codes for all the games that appear on the site. This one is a bit of a double edge sword. On one hand it means I get my hands on cool new games that I can play AFTER the sale and still be supporting the developers in the usual way, just without the usual cost burden. On the other hand I don't want it to seem that I'll only play a game if the developers work with this site.

5. Chrono control what games go on sale. I don't have anything to do with that. This means that I wont suddenly start being lovely to everything because I have no idea what's going to turn up on thier sales. 365 games per year sounds like a lot but that many new games turn up on steam every month. We should be fine.

6. I can cancel at any time and for any reason.

I think that's everything. If you have any questions etc let me know below. I'm bringing you lot in because this is something new for me and I want to make sure I remain moneterily unbiased.* If you think it's great, terrible, somewhere in between just let me know!

Oh, Saturday's video may be the best video ever. Never laughed so hard in a video in my life. Get hype.

- Dan

PS. All this will be mentioned in a video when finalised. It's going to be patron only info while it's being worked out.

PPS. Sorry for this terrible wall of text. I haven't slept for days thanks to stress and everything's a bit foggy.

*I will still keep the following Biases:

Fuck JRPGs

Minions are funny

I hate Buzzfeed

Han Shot first

Watermelon is the best flavour of sweet

Matt Smith is the best Doctor

Razer could beat Hypno Disc

The Star Trek rebooted movies suck

Comments

Sounds like a very comfortable deal - but with one problem: there's probably nothing happening in that deal. It's quite possible that neither you nor Chrono get any revenue from it. That's not much of a problem, but it does mean they wrote up a contract for potentially nothing.

Chris

Love it!

Katerina

Matt Smith is definitely the best doctor

I found this site a few weeks ago, and use it regularly, do you get any cut for games you don't promote if we use your link? additionally i would support you by buying games through chrono.gg but already own SUPERHOT.

Elysia Caelum

It's a little jarring to think that Dan has been a part of nearly a 1/4 of my life. I've loved every moment of it.

JustAChair

Keep up!

Illuminati Games

That, probably sounded like a suicide note looking back on it. Not dying just really thankful and emotional.

It's hard to remember sometimes, that this person I've listened to for nearly half a decade doesn't actually know me. Sometimes I forget that I've never met you, but that didn't stop you being there for me after school, every day at 3:00. Somehow, even with chronic fatigue, and moving, and many reboots, you managed to be a pillar of support for me through years of my life where I had so few people to turn to. You'll probably never know me Dan, but I'm so glad I've gotten to know you. I wish we could be friends.

Glad you're breaking away from the way YouTube are using the people who are actually keeping them alive, if they keep this up they will lose all the people who worked so hard to make it what it was a year ago. Now they have forgotten the people who made them millionaires and instead treat them as a burden. Funny how things go.

Enjoy your time off, Dan! You've earned it.

wmkouw

Are you still going to be posting stuff on Patreon?

Created The account to support you. I really do appreciate all the hours of fun you've given me over the last... Well far to many hours. I hope that you get better, and get the energy to do WhateverTheHeck you wanna do from this point at out. And that the help you mentioned, is going to help you. Anyways... Have a good one Dan, and i hope to see you on twitch :D

Also just started a patreon after this video. It's good to hear you will seek professional help over the break. I recently did (last year) after I realized it wasn't very helpful to drink half a bottle of rum every night to deal with the anxiety from a job I hated. Things have gotten much better since then. Good luck to you!

Same here! I think the hardcore fans owe him one.

I created a patreon just to support you :) Godspeed Daniel

FlaaMindO

just became a patreon after watching your upload on youtube, have a wonderful break daniel!

With a twitch subscription Twitch take 2.50 out of that 5 bucks, so probably use patreon

So... I want to support you a bit more. I'm currently giving $1 a month via Patreon and have been since the Patreon started, and I'd like to up that to $5/month. However, I'm not sure whether to do it here on Patreon or via a Twitch subscription. Which would you recommend? What supports you more?

Rest easy Dan, have fun with your wife and babies!

SammyToesis

Take your time. You are one of the few streamers who I find I can really laugh with, no matter what game you're playing. After seeing your leaving video, I added you on Patreon and my prime twitch account.

ZapWizard

Seems reasonable

Doing what I can for you Dan! Love your videos and your content. I am seriously sorry about Youtube doing this to you, I actually was inspired by you to try and create a channel a few years ago, though it didn't work out so well, I still dream of becoming a big time Youtuber, but the military career I have dedicated myself to will make trying to do youtube vids a bit harder now. But I wish you luck.

Edward "Jake" Firmalo

Seems super reasonable to me, but my question is: what does Chrono.gg get out of this? It seems like you would only promote them in occasional tweets and live stream comments, which is a pretty small amount of promotion in return for free games and no obligation to cover any of their deals. It would make a lot more sense to me if you were promoting games you like on sale days, but as it is the deal is pretty one-sided in your favour.

RC

Hey Dan, I don't really know how to say this since emotional and from the heart isn't really my forte, but take care of yourself and rember to have fun on your break!

Full, full, full support on everything!

Dan I just want you to know (because I got a bit too nervous when I was at CoxCon to tell you) that I love your content. It's sad to hear you say that you are going on a break but it's disheartening to hear that you suspect your channel may not recover afterwards. You've always got to look after yourself and if that means stopping videos for a while then let it be. I'm not saying that I want you to stop making videos altogether but I do want you to do what you enjoy. I know, you made it awfully clear in your video that you enjoy the whole video making process but the oncoming lack of financial viability means it may not be possible. I wish I could suggest something moderately useful but I'm sure you've already thought through every possible option three times over. On the other hand I am determined to see you through this month or so and that is why I've just upped my Patreon support for you from $1 to $5. The fact that I couldn't realistically afford any more was the only thing that stopped me from giving you the contents of my bank account. I love the channel, I love the business and I do honestly have a special place in my heart for you. See you on the other side.

Alex Sutherland

Sounds good for all parties (including us) though I'll have to take a stand on JRPGs :D

I think it's actually a great idea to work with them, they're very helpful, they've helped me every time I've had questions that related and even didn't relate to them. They seem like a decent company.

JRPGs are good, minions are shit, agreed with buzzfeed and Han Solo don't know about the next 2. Hypno Disk will beat Razer

This kind of sounds like the start of a slippery slope. I hope I'm wrong

Sounds like a good plan to me honestly! (also minions are shit you little f-*gets suspended*)

Aidan Rayner

You are the second person who likes minions which I follow. What is your opinions on the Rabbids?

Becky Scott Fairley

First, I really appreciate you being this transparent with your fans. Second, I think this sounds great. Go for it and get that income that you deserve! I would be supporting on here still if I didn't run into money problems myself.

Dakota Mitchell

Sounds great Dan do that thing

Andrew Bassett

I think its a great idea!

Zachary Orion Lloyd

Sounds to good to be true

Christopher Smith

That sounds more than reasonable. They seem solid, and TB knows his stuff when it comes the mcguffins like that.

Sandwich247

Sounds great to me! :)

Wayne Chan

I have a huge problem with this. Minions are absolutely not funny. Other than that it seems pretty good. Also I totally agree with you that watermelon is sweet and I'm glad it's finally getting the recognition it deserves.

You really only benefit from working with Chrono! I've been waiting for this to happen ever since TB signed the deal with them. Imo taking the free game deal is a good idea. It provides games for the tests series when you need something to play (not that that was a problem though) and if you like the games it always gives their sales a huge boost.

Samppa Alatalo

finally someone else agrees that watermelon is best sweet, also the deal seems pretty cool and if it means that you can keep doing this without as much of a funding problem then absolutely go for it, I trust you to not sell out and promote anything that you don't truly like so yeah man sounds great. also sleep. please

aidan booker

Go for it, mate. And get some sleep.

This seems like the best deal you could've gotten! I don't think that this would have any issues regarding journalistic integrity.

Peter Carr

I completely agree, Razor could definitely beat Hypno Disc

James Tann

Seem like a great idea, I trust there will be no bias with you still creating the videos even if you play the one that is currently on sale that day but if you still don't feel comfortable with that as some others might not feel the same then your current terms are excellent. PS Thanks for letting us know.

Garry Haydon

Seems like you've done more than enough thinking on it to cover the bases. Besides if TB thinks highly enough of them to suggest it then why not, ya?

wootifus

Sounds like you've thought it through. I also wouldn't object to streams of games on sale on the day if they're ones you've played and liked before (in a video or on a stream).

Diane Frank

Seems good.

Matt Eden

My only context for this is your preface and the terms, but it sounds great! You deserve to be able to make decent stable income, and if you're doing it in a way that's transparent and ethical then go right ahead. I have a similar view on brand deals as you, I think (basically having a quick dry-wretch in the corner and then getting on with my day) but when you boil it down they aren't fundumentally good or bad, and this carefully and ethically designed one certainly seems good!

Does this mean you're moving away from Steam, or is it going to be both, as appropriate, merely a further source for games?

I made a Chrono account right back when Tb first announced that he was partnered with them. Since then I've been getting emails of whats on sale everyday and the occasional tweets from TB about things that he liked being on sale. However I have never bought anything from them once. I think the reason for this is a combination of being emailed everyday about games that I don't care about, so I quickly came to ignore them. I don't know where I'm going with this exactly, but I have no problem with you partnering with them, I just probably won't be buying anything.

As long as we can still enjoy you making videos I'm up for anything. And amazing that you don't just go to sponsorship deals to get money, but look into alternative methods. ANd if that means developers get some money, You get some money and everyone comes out better, than what's not to like?! Big support on this move

Rinaldo

Yeah I see nothing wrong with this at all. You're being more than fair as always. I also hugely support you taking your well deserved break. Get some rest with your wonderful wife and two adorable canines and come back all the better for it. I'm also very excited about the book!

Mike Jones

Go for it Dan. Any additional revenue stream that doesn't reduce the quality or quantity of videos seems like a good idea as long as you are able to be transparent about it.

John A Preston

Sounds like a good idea, especially since being able to leave the deal and being able to speak your own mind about the games is in the terms. Also appreciate the transparency and acknowledge that everyone has their own biases and opinions.

The Calm Gamer

Great idea - sounds like it's a good deal for everyone :)

Matt G

It sounds like a good idea and a good fit for you. As far as I'm concerned, you and your team have proven yourselves to be more open, upfront, and honest about more of your business than any company I can name and I don't see this venture compromising that in any way. Diversifying your income sources is almost always a wise decision, and with the recent increase in unreliability of Youtube income I strongly support you investigating new ways to provide us with entertainment while making sure you get compensated for your work.

go for it

elis one l

I like it! Honestly I'd like you to show games that are on sale. Not every day obviously, but it'd be nice to see your video and be like, "oh, I can get that cool game and support Dan? Nice." I may be alone in that, but it's how I feel.

Ethan Myers

Fucking go for it Dan.

FlamingYeti

Sounds like a good thing to me.

Daniel Jarrett

This sounds like a situation where everyone comes out happy, and with the ability to cancel at any time should it not turn out the way you wanted it to. I fully trust your judgement on that end, and appreciate the transparency. However, I feel Tennant was more fun to watch.

Sounds like a good thing to me. Hope it goes well, and thank you for being so open about it Dan!

Dan, one of the things I've always loved about your channel is that I'm getting your genuine unfiltered opinion, even if I disagree with it. There are so many channels where you can tell they're being forced to play some game they don't actually care anything for, and even if it's a pile of dogshite, endorsing with gusto. I dont think working with these guys alters that in any way. You need to make a living to keep making content to keep making me happy, and I like being happy. Dan's Integrity Status: Intact

Toby Monaghan-Gray

I am completely fine with this. not only does it help you but it also does not screw over indie developers. and seeing some old indie games are a nice plus two. Ps i hope you get some sleep and try to relax

jozeph985

Wow talk about being completely open, props to you Dan. I'd go for it!

You gave me a heart attack cus I thought you said 'Last video', but aside from that, all this sponsorship is fine with me. If there is a content creator who I would trust more with this approach I haven't found them yet.

Dan, get some rest. Don't get hospitalized for exahstion again. No body wants that, we would worry. It's going to cut way more time out of your work than a simple bit of sleep ever will.

Tyler Rand

Sounds fine to me, Dan. Thanks for the transparency.

ThisDamnScotsman

All sounds good to me.

I am fine with this

I think you're good man. Keep up the good work... and try and get some sleep.

Fudj

I would be happy with you playing new games. As a pupil at a school I don't have a lot of money, and not a really big fan of old games. It be great to see fresh games that are in my affordability bracket and I can support.

Sounds good to me, you should go for it! If you can cancel at any point, then you can always stop if you discover it's not what you thought. <3

Agrajag

This sounds like a great system and I hope it will alow you to create great new content

I've never had a problem with sponsored content or ad deals in theory. As long as it's stated that the content is paid for I don't care, it has always been about the content for me. If I think the content is good I'll watch the video, if I don't like it I don't watch it. As long as the content is good and any deals are clearly stated I'll watch. You have to make money too, why should I complain when you have to do what's best for you and your employees. That being said I have much respect for anyone sticking to their principles like you do with the sponsored content. Keep up the good work and do what you feel is best and right for you. PS. I'm very sorry for the wall of text. PPS. I always liked Eccleston...

Josh (destofworlds)

I am just a bit confused I hope that you will continue doing youtube

Josh Harding

I would say do it, It would be a good extra revenue stream for you so that you can continue making the same reviews that you always have without having to resort to sponsored deals

I've never been a fan of brand deals in YouTube content either. Saying that, the way Chrono.gg is promoted through TB always seems completely legit, and it's made beyond obvious that this is an advert that he is getting compensated for. Personally, for me to enjoy (or at least tolerate) any promotion, it has to follow 3 main rules: - You (the creator) actually has interest in the product, and has relevancy to your content. - It's unobtrusive as possible, so people wishing to avoid it could do so fairly easily. - It's crystal clear that you are getting paid for promoting said product. I know how good you are with transparency (see this exact post haha) so I don't reckon that is really an issue for you.

Sounds Great to me, helps us find great games on sale and helps you out. Win-Win

Robert Molnar

Do it that sound amazing

I'd be slightly uncomfortable if it was for new games, but with the terms you've stated it sounds like an excellent system

Septimus ii

Quick clarifying question, if you post a game on chronos, does it only go on sale once (randomly) in a year for 24 hours then never again? Or something else? Bc Chronos sounds like a great place, but 24 hours doesn't sound like a lot of time to promote a game. Other than that, sounds absolutely lovely.

Lhiam Herwill

I reckon that's a brilliant deal for you mate, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the odd video on your channel showcasing a game you particularly like with a decent sale. Also, would the revenue you gain from this deal only come from people that visit the site and purchase whatever game using your #AD Tweet?

This sounds great Dan! YT sucks right now and you should do whatever you can to compensate for that! From how you describe it, it loks perfect for who you are and what your channel is.

Roby de Visser

Dan, you have to do what will support you. It just makes sense. I say do it.

You do you Dan. You've done so much for us. Made us laugh for years so you deserve it :)

The problem with Twitch is that income is pretty wildly variable, especially with things like Bits; you can make a lot more money compared to ad-revenue alone, but it's hard to measure and quantify, at least as far as I'm aware from streamers I've known in the past. Something like this is small and gentle enough to act as a buffer; it's unreliable too, but it's valuable in terms of balancing out things overall, one chancing to cover when the other is lean. I'm behind things like this, instead of sponsored videos. I feel like so long as you stick to the rule of never using the site with games you haven't already and unaffectedly said you support, there's no problem. It also acts as a blind-system, where you don't feel as subconsciously pressured to be more favorable to games.

BurningEmber

I agree with everything under the PSD section xD and I've always said this but do what you have too, you need to make money too.

Mate anything that gets you more money so you can keep on doing your shit is something I approve of! And I think it would be a good idea for you to cover the chrono.gg games on Twitch so we can get a taste of what we are going to buy beforehand.

Narmatonia

This sounds perfect for you and for us. We get the opportunity to get notified of some great games. You make a little extra money. It can stop if it goes wrong but there is no pressure so it probably won't. I like it. And like the way that company sounds agreeing to such a good deal for everyone

Jackie

Sounds like a near perfect situation thanks for being transparent. Good ob

Birchwood

Go for it, if you don't feel it works for you then just cancel it.

The problem is that stating your income violates the Adsense ToS and, as much as others do, I'm not willing to risk that. Currently the YouTube channel and the Patreon and Twitch are just about making enough to pay everybody. This time last year I could pay everyone with just the YouTube. With the way things go I'll probably be able to fund myself online easily forever, it's just when it comes to paying my employees, that's where I'm currently having problems. Sorry I can't be more specific than that.

Nerd³

Anything that helps cash flow without doing something you don't want to do is good :D

Daniel Auty

I'm on board with this. It's a good, smart deal, and can be used to directly help indie-devs. The terms are good, as are the people involved, and deals like this can encourage other sites to start making deals with these sorts of terms, to some degree. Also, it is very nice for you to get paid!

BurningEmber

This sounds great Dan, I saw TB advertise chrono once a while back and thought it was great then, I have a daily email from them so I can always pick something up if I fancy it.

Daniel Auty

Coming 2037

Nerd³

Ive been a subscriber to you for, oh i really dont know it feels like forever, anyway i support you 100% with this because your videos allways brings me and many others so much joy, and with the YouTube ads being like they are now i totally understand you wanting to take a deal like this, and thank you for being so transparant! <3

Great idea, I was ok when TB did it, I'm sure as shit ok when you do it. <3

Simon Paffett

Correct. It'll only be games I've covered several months before minimum.

Nerd³

Dan, this seems like a great deal for everyone. We get to get notified of games that you've liked in the past and get a deal, Chrono.gg gets people on their site, and you are not put under any undue pressure to become a games pimp. I say go for it. Now to quote Rebecca, "GO TO SLEEP!"

Anna Leigh Wilson

It sounds like a good deal for everyone. Know whats going on is great tho thank you for the update. Ps actualy banana is best flavor of sweet.

Go for it! Anything that helps you out and doesnt affect us is worth it!

I think any service that you are comfortable with and keeps you happy with your content and allows you to remain with a stable-ish income is more than okay with me. 😀

Westley Wilson

This sounds like a perfect deal for everyone. I've always trusted you to be transparent with us, and I don't think this will affect that trust in any way. And if it helps you to keep doing this job, even better! So as long as you're comfortable with this, I say go for it! I don't think any of us will have anything against it.

ICE Trance

Go for if it if u staying making YouTube awesome content that will be great as I don't have a lot of time for twitch in my life rn 😪

1st_batman

Sounds great Dan just glad that you have to been transparent about it.

Bailey Evans

I think everything has already been said by the comments before me. Go for it if you are comfortable with it. Most people would probably still support you even if you did a monthly #sponsored video. Just keep making that amazing content ^^

Welf Garkisch

Go for it! I think anyone who supports you should support any deal/plan, as without it one day there may not be a you left to support.

I think this sounds like a great idea, struggling with getting money from your full time job isn't something you should have to debate. Do it!

JoshRyanUK

Go for it Dan! I've seen them around before and I really like them. And if it means you're getting a little extra cash then that's awesome! I hope everything goes smoothly.

Joshua Aarons

I think its a win win, we get cheaper awesome indie games and you get to make a bit of money. I think it'll certainly help that it won't be too intrusive to the youtube videos! It'd be cool to see you integrate it into twitch so you take a first look at some of the daily games as and when you find something that looks/sounds interesting (Within moderation obviously not every stream).

jonathan steward

It seems that you're quite comfortable and confident with this deal, which is most important to me. I think you should go for it, as YouTube is being unreliable and spreading streams of revenue seems like a strong plan.

Renzo Wijngaarden

There doesn't seem to be any downsides to this, so go for it!

Aaron Place

Can't go wrong with Indie, unless he forgets his hat and then has to do unspeakable favors to get it back al

Adam Macro

Sound great to me Daniel, go for it if it's something you passionate about

Colin Webster

Go for it Dan. Deal sounds good and non intrusive and lets you free to create. Keep up the good work chief!

Sounds like a great thing to go for. Everyone trusts you to remain unbiased and transparent and I'm sure it wouldn't change anything for us anyway, it's sad to hear you stressing and worrying. If this helps to combat that. Go for it!

It helps devs, it helps yourself, it helps us get more Nerdcubed, it's a win-win-win-win all around, and I think we all know you'll be 100% transparent about it. Absolutely go for it if you feel it's the way!

Daniel Sims

I don't think this will harm your channel nor make us think any less of you. This seems like a deal that fits light in line with what I think your beliefs about this kind of thing is.

Darythe Hill

I'm down for it chrono.gg is a reputable site that I have used before I say go for it.

Jacob Hardy

It seems like a great deal for all, go for it

HaphazardPanda

Sounds like a perfectly honest approach to the subject. A dedicated video for transparency is always a good idea. If it helps then by all means go for it.

The way you want to handle it, it doesn't sound like a conflict of interest. Sounds good!

I think you have to try and keep yourself going somehow. With the things you have said it seems like it can be good for both parties.

Simon Robinson

I don't really know too much about how TB's handling this deal, but from what you've said, I don't mind at all. It doesn't sound like any sort of drastic change (if hardly a change at all) is happening, and if you're promoting the games you love for the benefit of the developers, chrono.gg, and yourself, then I'm all for it. I just want your life to be stable. So if this helps that, then it's good by me :)

I dunno. You claim to be transparant but how much do you actually get averagely per day or so? How much do you pay for staffers and so on? Don't get me wrong, good stuff to always earn money but it just strikes me as odd as you got a house and a good life yet you say you don't get enough money so it's like, are you in debt or barely making by or do you just want more money?

If it makes it easier for you to keep making awesome stuff, then go ahead!

Artemis Potter

As long as you're clear about it, I think it's a good idea.

Go for it, thanks for always being transparent.

I trust your judgement on this stuff, Dan, as I'm sure the rest of us do. You are honestly the most transparent YouTuber when it comes to this stuff, and I think I speak for everyone when I say: Thank you!

Also I am taking a day off work on Saturday just to watch that video

Cameron White

I think it's fantastic that you shared the terms here before signing anything, even though it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference if you hadn't. If this helps you have extra revenue streams that allow you to keep making great content, then it's all good.

Andyface

Go for it! However, I think you should make this an open post (I mean not just for patrons) so that more than %2 of your fans could share their ideas.

Do it Dan. Anything to guarantee you can get enough revenue to continue doing what you love. It sounds like a great deal from the sounds of it. Do it.

Ultamatum

Seems fine to me as long as you are transparent about it!

I think this is great you tweet alot anyway so the occasional #ad tweet shouldnt matter and this is also supporting devs which everyone agrees is the best also love the idea that you put the links in chat on streams considering its usually a daily thing for you now

Jack Draper

Dan I feel that if this keeps you going with YouTube and allows you to still put out great stuff I personally have no problem with this whatsoever

Cameron White

I would go for it because it seems like a good site, and if you get a bit more money, then you will be able to make vids for us

Well since he's being so transparent and unbiased, that criticism will be on the low. And Dan also has a habit of not caring about things like that.

Dan, materino, we're gonna be in support of whatever jazz you play. Just look after yourself, and don't ever be afraid of taking breaks.

Hailey Morrison

I still wanna see "Nerd³ Sells Out... Clash Of Clans"

Azeria

I think this sounds like a fine and minor trade-off for the ability to keep producing videos while that's still your bread and butter as an entertainer. As long as it doesn't involve G2A style code farming I'm all in.

Sounds like a great deal mate...I'd go for it!

ViralDragonRider

That seems good but remember to care for yourself! Don't overwork yourself too much and try to have breaks when you can :P

Shoot for the moon, Dan. I believe all of your fans will support this. 💙

Yeah. Also: this might be TMI but is the cut you take from their side enough to make the criticism for 'selling out' worth it? Because we both know some people are gonna be pissed.

Sophie Wyllie

Go for it! It sounds like a great idea! I'll have to bookmark the site so I can watch for those deals!

I think its a brilliant idea, also massive props for the transparency Dan

I'm aware of the site through TB and while I've never used it myself it looks like good deals and I wouldn't have a problem with that kind of deal

Those terms look mostly the same as the ones TB works under, he only mentions the games he already covered or has well published love for. So all in all sounds completely ok by my reckoning. (TLDR +1 go for it)

I’m totally game for that if it highlights some awesome games and gives you a more stable income!

Sounds like a fair deal, go for it

Marco te Kortschot

So long as you stay true to what you want then it's cool!

PixelsInSpace

So far this sounds fine to me.

Sounds good Dan. As long as you're mostly transparent (? I think that's the word I want) about it, I don't think anyone else will have an issue

Jeff Davis

Good for you! Sounds good to me!

LukeSeawalker
