2019-02-24 16:12:37 +0000 UTCAyy! That Steven universe tho! <3 Btw, Crewniverse pretty much confirmed a season 6 ;)

2019-02-18 18:05:20 +0000 UTCFeel your pain. We haven’t had hot water for over a year, can’t afford to replace the boiler. Electric shower is all we have. And a kettle.
2019-02-18 17:51:06 +0000 UTCI only just started using it, and find that some subreddits are amazing but some are filled with horrible people. Just have to subscribe to subreddits that you enjoy.

2019-02-01 11:29:20 +0000 UTCWhat's the opening line damnnit.

2019-02-01 11:27:49 +0000 UTCStanding by my comment that Steven universe is slightly overrated.

2019-01-30 10:56:54 +0000 UTCDan! Great podcast as always. Have you seen the weird Red Nose Day Doctor Who sketch from the 80s with Lenny Henry as The Doctor? It's got weird political humour and is fucking mental.

2019-01-29 13:49:01 +0000 UTCIt's over isn't it - Steven Universe
2019-01-29 13:05:01 +0000 UTCHey Dan, I'm glad you enjoy Steven Universe! I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the show, I don't know what you'd talk about but i'm sure it'd be entertaining if not insightful SU has that effect. so... talk about it some more? not a demand, merely a request. Thanks for considering it.
2019-01-29 11:37:08 +0000 UTCThe "using jokes as plot points" thing reminds me a lot of this public webtoon, Kubera, that used this tactic a lot. Best example I can think of is when Ran looks at one of the main characters and thinks "Wow, this person looks like they'd kill a whole bunch of people and get away with it." God knows how many chapters later it is revealed that yeah, that guy totally did kill a whole bunch of people. Hearing you say that you'll make use of this tactic in your own work (although we probably won't see it for a few years) really gets me excited for it :)

2019-01-28 23:34:45 +0000 UTCI think John Green from vlogbrothers also left social media. Funny how everyone's reaction is the same. First day, it's just bait to go to the sites

2019-01-28 23:14:12 +0000 UTCI have tried to buy Steven Universe from the Microsoft store and it refuses to work ;-;

2019-01-28 21:35:07 +0000 UTCPretty sure they do still talk and are friends, but never publicly because the Demma thing got out of hand quickly. Emma talked about it in one of the videos in the last few months and how it wasn't good for all involved, because you had shippers hating on Rebecca and increasing demands for collaborations.
2019-01-28 21:29:09 +0000 UTCI respect your decision to leave social media, sometimes I wish I had strength to remove this kind of negativity from my life. However, I'm going to miss your Twitter rants about Brexit and other stupid shit, I hope that at least some of that will make its way here on the Patreon Podcast.

2019-01-28 20:32:29 +0000 UTCDan! If you think Steven Universe is great, you have to watch Gravity falls!
Jessica Cronin
2019-01-28 18:15:36 +0000 UTCMe and my partner know what you are going through here, she is probably on the same pills as you and it is good but not fun. If that makes any sense. I need to replace my boiler in my house (built in 1650, new build. The house not the boiler, it wasn't made by brunel) and car so... Wooo Still started a crap book so that is a plus. PS: jeans for the win screw shorts. Edit: I loved discovery (the ship) until it started rotating. Having the gap gives more members of the crew windows Edit edit: recommended Read's. Hyperion cantos and red mars

2019-01-28 17:32:07 +0000 UTCI quit Reddit about 5 years ago and do not regret it at all, every time I have been on that site since it is just filled with the most annoying, hateful people.

2019-01-28 16:48:42 +0000 UTCShame you're leaving twitter, but I support you wholeheartedly. But your political commentary is unmatched. As long as the podcasts keep coming then I'll be happy; your none-gaming opinions are really interesting to me.
Jake Atterby
2019-01-28 16:47:24 +0000 UTCIf you want to go further with trying to reduce the amount of time you spend on your phone you could use an app called forest where you plant virtual trees and you have to stay off your phone otherwise the tree dies! Also if you get the premium version then you can eventually use the in game currency to plant real trees which is pretty cool. On the subject of sponsored videos, does that mean you no longer watch people like Jay Foreman?

2019-01-28 16:38:46 +0000 UTCOk, so enter wasn't 'new line' this time, and I can't find the edit button... I'll just ask questions down here: 1. What do you use to store your notes for your story? I'm attempting (and failing) to write stuff, but can't find a method that lets me shift stuff around and indicate cross references as much as I'd like? 2. Any tips on turning a world into a story? I have a world, and know the motivations of most of the agents in it, but can't weave them together into a compelling narrative. 3. What's your opinion on, when hitting burnout with a given story, switching to write a seperate short story in the same universe?
Alastair Haig
2019-01-28 16:26:02 +0000 UTCHello Dan! First of all, thank you for releasing a podcast at just the right time to stop me overthinking things on my commute. Second, I have a couple questions about writing if you have time/willingness to answer them:
Alastair Haig
2019-01-28 16:18:17 +0000 UTCWould you consider playing some of the Little and Cubed GTA Online things with Jon?

2019-01-28 15:19:09 +0000 UTCYou should stream an interactive wwe universe mode.
Matthew Wallis
2019-01-28 14:58:16 +0000 UTC'been running a show for 5 years and known how it's going to end from day 1' how about that, but 4 years? (you should consider having a look at Crazy-Ex Girlfriend)
Tom Chaney
2019-01-28 14:46:30 +0000 UTCI keep hearing good things about the new Discovery episodes, but I'm still just pissed off at the showrunners for consistently going 'we're aware of the bury your gays trope and we're going to steer well clear of it' and then they just went and gave a textbook example of exactly the trope they said they were avoiding
Tom Chaney
2019-01-28 14:41:59 +0000 UTCWhen you say 'brands' of medicine do you mean different brand names, or the generic version from different manufacturers? Because I don't know how your pharmacy does it but the one I work in, if someone specifically asks for a certain manufacturer (assuming it's generic), we can call our suppliers to ask for that one (and even keep a bunch stored away). It might be worth asking around the nearby pharmacies to see if this is possible

2019-01-28 14:41:40 +0000 UTCI was starting my story writing session while listening to your podcast. Turns out I'm hopeless at writing when listening to someone talk, but I did enjoy the fact that I was writing a story (which I hope to re-write as a novel), while listening to you talking about a novel you're working on. :D

2019-01-28 14:27:13 +0000 UTCDan, how about a Good Place podcast episode? Just mark it up front for spoilers, people definitely need to not have the S1 finale spoiled. Maybe a front spoiler free section for those that haven't watched it, because we all need more Good Place in our lives.

2019-01-28 14:00:04 +0000 UTCI think you should try Avatar The Last Airbender. It's commonly named "The best cartoon of all time" And you might enjoy it!

2019-01-28 13:55:59 +0000 UTCNothing better then listing to an old podcasts because there isn’t a new one then dan uploads a new one!!

2019-01-28 12:07:30 +0000 UTCBy the way, I love the way you had the Machinema logo explode as a punchline. Possibly the most you detail in the video, which is saying something.

2019-01-28 11:16:13 +0000 UTCDan, for god sake's, M.A.S.H! I was just chanting M.A.S.H while you were pondering what was in you're top 3!

2019-01-28 11:05:36 +0000 UTCTwitter is fine as long as you're followers are smaller than the people you follow. When you just follow people, you can curate what you want. When you get too many followers, your at the mercy of what they say when they respond to you.
