matthew singleton

Dan, just found out you listen to Dave. Do you listen to much rap? If so who's your go to rappers?

Adam Li

You should write a book about writing! There are so many little bits of knowledge that I feel like I’ve picked up from you about writing and stories in general. To have that all in one concise bible would be one of the greatest books of all time

CaptainOfYourShip

I didn’t even know halo 5 existed.

Scott

Mogworld is on my top three books of all time

Aidan O'Sullivan

My step dad is a graphic designer and he is awesome at it and looking for work he would be happy to do the cover

Aidan O'Sullivan

Dan, What Controller do you use for smash bros?

aidan booker

Dan. Yatzees books are amazing. Recommend all 4 of them mainly Mogworld and Will Save The Galaxy For food.

Brad

Thanks for answering my Questions Dan! If you see 'SheepBeard' in the Twitch Chat, that's me. If you're looking for some good books, personally I've been enjoying The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch (Fantasy Conmen doing fantasy conmen things. A bit heavy on the worldbuilding at times, but it all turns out to be plot relevant), the Laundry Files by Charlie Stross (What if Magic, the kind that summons Eldritch Abominations, was a branch of applied computer science? And what if there was a secret branch of the civil service that dealt with that stuff? More fun than it sounds), and anything by Terry Pratchett (Good Omens in particular, or if you've not read any Discworld yet, Small Gods is the one I recommend to people to start at). (PS Haig rhymes with Vague)

Alastair Haig

I idolise you and Rebeca I just want you to now that

I think Xbox nailed it’s backwards compatibility instead of exclusives this gen as you said the PS2 was great and how many of those gen games have gone to the Xbox one with ease really good job imo but PS has amazing exclusive and makes me jealous but as you said it’s only every six months or so

Jack Draper

I love the descriptions you mentioned but only if the serve a purpose. The chair has two legs shorter than the others... Ether there house is on a hill, someone is going to fall off it later or the noise of it rocking attracts someone's attention.

Gentle Grudge

Nerdcubed, you are my favorite entertainer.

Isn't the Steven Universe: Save the light game out on switch

SamTheSensualSapphist

It's interesting how things change when you're working on a story, in my current one I have a character who is important, but the story calls for him to be absent. I originally had him off doing other "important" stuff, then coming back for the climax; but I soon realised that was all unnecessary so I put him in a coma instead, no pulling away from the main story, and no convoluting him back into the story, much better :)

Narmatonia

Have you ever written any fanfiction? And by that I don't mean your Star Trek/Doctor Who stuff where you're writing it as if you were working on the shows, more like a Harry Potter fanfiction type deal

Narmatonia

You could say the Vive cable, *tethered* you to reality!

Jellex

You need to try Gris on the switch, it looks gorgeous, although I don't know how it plays.

Jellex

I swear to god Daniel if you spoil Steven Universe

Jellex

Thank god someone else appreciates the Frozen 2 trailer

Jellex

I need a twitter curator

Jellex

"Me and poetry don't really get along" I can relate to this

Jellex

I have a world and technology and stuff but I need to think of a story to connect them all, it's really hard to do that.

Jellex

Mate you NEED to watch how to train your dragon 3. It was such an exceptional film, watch it with Rebecca though cos it was also one of the most romantic films I've watched on a long time. Not sappy romantic though don't worry, genuine lovely romance and an amazing story alongside it

William Newing

So your face is officially NSFW

DapperCyborg

Daniel! The game Eastshade you were interested in is now out on Steam!

As you were talking about it, and as I never miss an opportunity to shill things I like, here's some recent Netflix originals I'd recommend: - One Day At A Time has long been one of my favourite shows, the new season is just about perfection. -Sex Education has great music, people talking about their problems, distinctive likable characters (who are all easy to nickname if you're not good with names), and Gillian Anderson. -I've only just started Umbrella Academy, but it looks good so far, and it's nice when Ellen Page is in things. - Crazy-Ex Girlfriend isn't a Netflix original, but it has one of those next day airing deals with Netflix, is great and has probably some of the best depictions of mental illness, bisexuality and relationships on TV as well as being hilarious and providing most of the music I listen to on a day to day basis.

Tom Chaney

Wasn't the latest Forza the one where you can go to Edinburgh? I'm going to have to give it points for that (also, the xbox has the nicest controller, which is a bonus)

Tom Chaney

mine do, I always wanna read the bottom of the page before I've finished the top

audio books + trains + closed eyes = pretend you are alone! Fuck Yeah!

FireheartKR

I am currently reading a book on Livermore nuclear lab for my anthropology course and there are so many times where he's describing some overly boring policy in more detail than anyone could ever need or he's discussing exactly how people were arrested for drug offences. It's unnecessary and my eyes skip half a page.

Angus Noble

Recently tried to read a crime thriller i got for my birthday. It feels like every single room and person gets a one page description. I just couldn't handle it. 2 defining traits are all you need to get a basic picture of a new character.

Welf Garkisch

Last year I read one book (Fatherland by Robert Harris). When I was doing my BA/MA I 'read' books to find the relevant information for essays, but rarely got the chance to read cover-to-cover. I recently turned on screen-time limiters on my phone and so far this year I've read; Divided by Tim Marshall; Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall; and Other Minds by Peter Godfrey-Smith. I still have a backlog of books I've bought over the years, but hopefully I can read 1 or 2 books a month and make a dent in some of the massive tomes I have, namely A People's Tragedy by Orlando Figes.

Harry Cochrane

With "Netflix Originals" you mentioned quite a few of them are just means they are distributed exclusively by Netflix outside their home territory, in the territory you are in, these are the shows that are the "originals" that are added weekly so for example The Good Place is aired in the US on Thursday on NBC then added to Netflix Friday morning in the UK and there is only a handful of shows that like this that don't come out weekly like You Me Her that only added to Netflix exclusively when the season is done airing in the US. Also I am very excited what Xbox is doing next generation because I just wondering what they call it.

Shawn Lindsay

Wow wow wow wait. You didn't like Tropical Freeze?? I just recently got that and it's a million times better than any other 2D platformer I've played.

Rowan Mackenzie

Since you're enjoying Gravity Falls now, I have two other recommendations for you. Avatar the Last Airbender and Star Vs the Forces of Evil. I'm guessing you'll probably enjoy Avatar more, but they're both worth checking out. Star vs. doesn't get amazing until season 2, but it's still very enjoyable

Rowan Mackenzie

From your thoughts on descriptions I can tell I'm going to be massively enjoying your book

Rowan Mackenzie

I was reading a book where a man sat in an elevator for five pages and thought about how he counted the money in his pocket. I did not get any further through that book.

Rowan Mackenzie

Speaking of quitting social media, I recently just deleted my YouTube channel and barely use it anymore, facebook I've used adblock to block elements so I don't have to see the feed and shit, I only ever use it for messenger and I'm not on any other social media. I'm really hoping that social media is going to begin dying off.

Rowan Mackenzie

I'm really enjoying Switched, already bought Sky Gamblers and that's great. How will we receive the audiobook version of the book?

Rowan Mackenzie

If you haven't checked it out Dan, Noclip: that documentary show that did the inside look at Fallout 76 and interviews with Bethesda, just released a really nice podcast episode with Lucas Pope. Some really nice insight in there and a mild dive into how his brain works.

"does anyone else's eyes wander when they read?" my eyes don't, but my mind does... my eyes keep going, but my brain is thinking about something completely different... then i'll come back to reading and have to go back a few paragraphs

Thanks for mentioning flower, been playing it for the past half hour and its a great time.

Collin Regalia

As an Xbox One owner (that hasn’t migrated to PC yet), most of the games I have on it are actually backwards compatible from the 360 or original Xbox. Every 360 game I like is backwards compatible. It’s not the biggest thing, but it’s nice.

Arcade Cat

Back when I was 14, before I was super into the internet, my favorite book was called The Lies of Locke Lamora, and I remember it being an amazing book with a great story. I recently tried to go back and read it, but my eyes glazed over a lot of it, since a lot of the world descriptions felt too long, to the point where I just gave up on it. I think it’s just a matter of the internet shortening our attention spans, and while I really miss being able to read that book, I don’t know if I could abandon the internet just to be able to read a book again

Do you own a tie Dan?

Guess I’ll sleep in a couple of hours
