"Not gonna be a long podcast" proceeds to make podcast longer than normal, well done Dan

18th birthday, 16th of august! Thought I'd clarify!

You can absolutely tell the difference between waters

pkmn6620 .

also hula hoops and pringles have original flavour. Also what about cheese and onion and salt and vinegar being opposite colours?

Nile Baker

I find flavour of water is based on the tds but there is a flavour of water

Nile Baker

I can also tell the difference in taste between water. When I move house I have to get used to the new water in that area. Bottled water also all tastes pretty different. Smart water is one of my favourite flavours, i'd always pick that over a coke or something.

Reece Fowler

I'm with Rebecca to a point with water. I work out in the bush in New Zealand a lot and there is defiantly a difference between water from a stream or spring and rain water from a tank or tap water. however almost everything that gets bottled tastes pretty much the same to me..... Dam! I love this podcast!

Hi Dan- you sound like I did when I discovered Big Finish- I'm surprised my family didn't disown me when I didn't shut up about it. Two overlooked Short Trips that you might be interested in are 'The Siege of Big Ben' and 'Flight into Hull', both narrated by Camille Coduri. I think they're the only stories that expand on the 'metacrisis Doctor' (the clone grown from David Tennant's hand who was left in the parallel universe with Rose, and I just realized how dumb that sounds), and they do a great job in showing that he isn't just the 10th Doctor again. If you buy them, listen to them in order, as 'Flight into Hull' resolves several plot points from 'Siege of Big Ben'. They're also fairly cheap to buy compared to many New Series stories.

The Parallel Viewmaster

I'm with Rebecca. I can absolutely taste the difference. I don't think I've tasted the god-water Rebecca has but I still see the difference.

Oh hang on, are you Jacob Edward as in of R1 Christmas presenter fame? I work there and briefly chatted to you on the day! I’m sure you won’t remember me, but super weird bumping into you again in a NerdCubed comment section! Hope all’s well 🤟

Right Dan, this “garlic bread” has got me utterly miffed. I think I did everything right, but the garlic clove did not “dissolve” as described. Instead my family who weren’t convinced to begin with laughed at me as the toast just disintegrated from the friction of the situation. I was left with beaten-up, slightly garlic tinted crinkles of bread. They didn’t let me try again. Where did I go wrong? Was I supposed to roast the garlic? I feel betrayed.

I’d agree a bit with both of you. I can taste the difference between two types of tap water, for example from work or at home, but I don’t understand the thing about bottled water because the few times I’ve had it, it just tastes like tap water from home, so I don’t see the point of you have drinkable tap water.

Hiya! It’s my birthday in a week (16th) and I’m getting a switch! What games are a must have? (Also have you ever had hot squash? So good on a cold day)

Personally, I would 100% pay to listen to Dan Googling crisp flavors again.

Alan Hardman

I pretty much only drink water, it definitely has different tastes. Also, I agree with Rebecca on the cold water thing.

DaximiousCMV

38C? oh you sweet baby child, I work in construction, and that would be a cool day. Heat index last week was 43C last week. Humidity 100% baby.

Patrick Biggs

The colder the drink, the less you taste. This is why most beer has to be so cold, as it tastes like dirt otherwise (IMO). Bottled vs tap is obvious, but the best water to not come out of a bottle is well water. Most suburban and urban areas have tap water provided by the city or county. In rural parts of the US (and I'm sure elsewhere too), houses get tap water from a well dug in their own yard. My great-grandparents had their well dug in 1945, and it still provides water today. it is much deeper than standard and I swear its an underground river. It is the best water, better than bottled. Wells aren't always great tho, so its never a guarentee

Patrick Biggs

Rebecca is definitely right. I recently moved from California to Portland and the water is so much worse. You have to drink it cold or it tastes way too much like a pool.

Luka Morgan

If you go stargazing again, get the app SkyView, it shows where different stars, contellations, satellites, planets etc are in the sky

Michael Edmonston

Rebecca is so right about water!! The colder it is the more masked the taste is! - this might be because I only ever drink water because everything else is far too strong 😅

Selkie Eris

Water always has a taste to me, and I have to use a water cooler to drink it due to my well water being dirty to drink.

JadeXeno

Welsh tap water is best water

allegedly-Welsh

I have always had to run water through a filter for as long as I can remember. I’ve a big Brita filter in my fridge since I moved out and there’s no filter in the fridge itself. The taste of city water or tap water if I’m not on a well is right off.

Anthony Phillips

Firstly, I absolutely agree with Rebecca that there is a difference in taste between bottled water and tap water and also between different brands of bottled water. Second thing is that I also remember Walkers having Original Flavour crisps, but I remember them being in yellow coloured packaging and not red like the Ready Salted crisps. Quick google search tells me that I might have confused Walkers with Lay's Classic flavour.

Filip 'PhilTheDead' Kwasniewski

I forgot Rebecca is they/them pronouns and was quite confused thinking maybe the pigs were getting their nails done and some word had been omitted by accident somewhere.

Anthony Phillips

Different waters do absolutely different. I think all the herbs have killed Dan's tongue

Mireaze

I'd also like to register the fact that I absolutely loved this podcast. I pay a fiver a month for this, and I think this was worth every penny.

I think I might be a mixture of these two views: water from different places absolutely defiantly tastes different, and I couldn't give less of a shit. I just don't like drinking water. Squash, now squash is the shit, but just straight water I don't like drinking. It defiantly tastes different though.

Well Read Nomad

I don't taste a difference between tap water and bottled water, however I have tasted a difference between the tap water at home and tap water in the mountains. But I also regularly forget to add salt to my food and don't notice it so I'm probably a pretty bad reference.

Lisa Esselink

I can definitely taste the difference between waters, and tap water is always better than tap water.
