Fuck Yeah, Doctor Who - S13E03 - Once, Upon Time

Fuck Yeah Doctor Who continues with a Chibnall zero, and more of Mike's crap audio.
- Dan
The whole time watching this episode, I kept saying to myself that Dan and Mike were going to rip it to shreds. I don’t like how snippy the Doctor has been getting with the companions. She’s been getting angry and unhelpful at times and I don’t like it. The Doctor hasn’t always been super talkative about their personal issues, but never defensive about it

Slightly random but upon watching some old Tennant episodes because I've been desperate for good doctor who, I realised that I Don't think we've seen the TARDIS materialise or dematerialise once in this season which is just kind of odd

For what it’s worth I’m 24 and I’ve known them as ‘games’ from early teenage years. Video games feels like something my parents would refer to them as, it’s almost too formal.

Love this podcast as always, kinda uneasy about the comments regarding Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland though. I'm not really sure what if anything Dan's done to make amends. More recently as well they are both heavily involved in NFTs. I dunno, I love Community too but it's worth stepping back and having another think about them.

Every time I thought I understood it then something was said that was like "wait what that's not what I was thinking at all". I think it's actually one of Jodie's strongest performances as the Doctor, but the actual plot of what was going on was incoherent.
I also think I hate plot twists now. Doctor Who seems to have fallen into the "if it's surprising it's good" trap, without getting the point that a twist should be obvious on rewatching. More things need to go to the Knives Out school of plot twists.

Currently watching the episode. Other episodes that have been confusing made me want to keep watching as things unfolded. This one is just confusing and makes me want to give up and watch something else. Think I am only sticking with it to listen to this podcast later today.

“Looks like a person but is a prison actually full of people” sounds vaguely similar to the trsselect. Tesselect. The thing from the finding out who river is ep

I don’t necessarily agree that this is the worst episode of Doctor Who ever. God knows the structure was a mess and the CGI was trash, but I do think the mysteries are being set up well. I’m being left with questions and I’m eager to know the answers. The only way I can actually judge whether it’s bad or not is if the answers aren’t given in a satisfying way.
I know they wont be, but I like having hope.

There is precedent for Dan's Angel blowing dust idea: that one time a little Angel blew out a match that Rory was holding.

Tried watching it while suffering vaccine after-effects. My brain melted and I just didn't get it. It was all over the place. Perhaps it was just me and my ill state, but unfortunately I think it was just a confused and badly written episode. So I watched the F1 instead.

Maybe I am just a silly young person because I kept up with this episode pretty well. Yeah there's definitely lots of issues still, but I don't think it was Chibnall 0
