Can you ROLL or HANDSTAND in Armor?

Never had armour but we used to have a bit of fun with the rolls by putting down a shinai, bokken or such, then dive in to the roll and try pick up the 'weapon' that was there. Even better was if, with a slight head start, get chased by someone with another shinai, so you had to roll, pick up, finish the roll getting back to your feet facing the chaser and block whatever swing they took at you. Honestly great fun, and messing it up then getting playfully jabbed or slapped with the shinai had most of us sore from laughing at each other.
