Preferred Video Format
Added 2021-08-08 19:36:36 +0000 UTCAt least one patron cannot view the 5K vids so am looking at posting multiple formats. Which one do you prefer? If your option isn't in the list, put it in the comments.
Update: attached downloadable examples of 5k30, 4k60 and 4k30 for comparison.
Here "5k" is 5760x2880 ( aka "2880p") and "4k" is 3840x1920 (aka "1920p")
Note if you have ffmpeg you can turn a higher res movie into 4k30 via
ffmpeg -i hirezmovie.mp4 -vf scale=3840:-2 -r 30 my4k30movie.mp4
There is a better longer command for optimizing the encoding but that should work. But better not to assume people have the resources, familiarity, and time to do that of course.

2021-08-09 06:22:00 +0000 UTCis doable when possible. I test the movies on a Quest 2 now so movies will work on one guaranteed
2021-08-09 00:18:24 +0000 UTCI would prefer 5760 x 2880 @ 60fps encoded with HEVC/h265 to be compatible with Quest 2 but I'm not sure if it's feasible w.r.t render time or encoding effort.
