2025-01-26 06:26:19 +0000 UTCI think evolutions can be acceptable. Let's be honest - there are many Pokémon that we feel like desperately need evolution, because something about them is lacking. Imagine Luvdisc - I don't like both design, and mechanically it's even worse. If there is a fun looking evo of Luvdisc made by someone, I would be fine with it. And again - experimentation may always bring something unexpected. Maybe for example Luvdisc randomly evolved with Marvel Scale? Some other related water item? Who knows? Clearly for a very long while people had no idea about Milotic, so I don't know why something else can't show up, if you just try to find a way. There is a high chance it will fail, but it may be anything. Heck, it may be a matter of LOCATION and AT WHAT TIME IT HAPPENS, because those evolutions exist as well. Also I can be completely convinced that there is some method for Bug or Ghost Eevee (as random examples). If so many typings for it exist, why others would be excluded from a Pokemon that genetically can become pretty much any type? If the author wants to do it - a good explanation will convince me it's ok. Random Pokemon make sense in a completely new region or very poorly explored area. Otherwise, with how advanced their technology is, and how good some Pokemon are at tracking, etc. I don't think it makes sense from a logical standpoint, where there are lots of humans. Not with their level of tech. But in a location with no humans around? Much, much more likely. Again - it's about logic. If logic is good - it will hold up just fine. Heck, I would be amused if MC finds normal species of some type, that he knows from his previous life, but they are new here. As at least in anime, we know normal animals do exist in their universe as well. I prefer this over Pokemon hunting only other Pokemon. Those of course do happen as well, but I think with creatures this intelligent I think we would see more violent cooperations and 'Pokemon Wars' between different species, where survival is so much more cutthroat. Ultra Beasts dimension is pretty much the whole pretty much unexplored area - if MC would visit this place, seeing new species would 100% makes sense from logical standpoint. Just my two cents to add to this discussion.

I 'love' when for example a character is a Pokemon researcher, and they only find canon Nintendo/Gamefreak 'discoveries', and take advantage of being 'so smart', while never discovering something on their own. Because stealing all ideas on the meta level is so smart and interesting, eyeroll. I mentioned it on one of the websites - the point of experimentation/research is finding something new. From a logical standpoint, it makes NO SENSE LOGICALLY to find nothing new at all, if you are performing any new ideas. Many discoveries in the history of our science happened accidentally, or inspired by a small idea. I don't see why Pokémon world would be different. So ignore the whiners, Pokémon 'canon purists' are one of the worst people around.

2025-01-24 13:31:13 +0000 UTCDoing stuff like type changes is way more acceptable than just making up your own random pokemon or evolutions so yeah they're just big whiners. Personally though I think a Vulpix is more inclined to be a ghost type than a dark type based on Ezra's condition and Vulpix/Ninetales' own lore but since it was just born out the egg I guess making it a dark type makes the most sense.
