Ch8 : Getting Principal Valentine fired

WARNING! This post contains spoilers!

The plot to get Principal Valentine fired existed before you arrived at the Goodhead Academy.

You are there to enable the factors that make it happen.

Here's how to do it...

There are two ways to get the Principal fired. The first is the storeroom pathway. It's more complex but requires no credits.
The second is the Principal Valentine Bonus pathway.

OPTION ONE : The storeroom pathway

You need three things to expose Principal Valentine in the storeroom.

1) The key to the storeroom

2) Governor Ramsey's laptop

3) Prevent Principal Valentine from discovering the hidden CCTV camera herself.

The storeroom key
You briefly get hold of a storeroom key (red keyfob) in Chapter Four, but must return it at the end of that chapter.

There is a spare copy (green keyfob) that you must find in the jacket hung up in your office.
This opportunity arises during Chapter Five at 10:00am.

Once you have the key, there are opportunities to lend the key to Holly and Maria in Chapter Seven, and opportunities to get it back in Chapter Eight.
You can just keep a hold of it but must remember to take it out of the office drawer and put it in your pocket.

You must have the key in your possession before the endgame in Chapter Eight.

Governor Ramsey's laptop
You have an opportunity to look at Governor Ramsey's laptop in the Principal's office when you meet with him in Chapter Seven.
If you don't look at the contents of his laptop it won't be available to pick up in Chapter Eight.

Without seeing the laptop, Miss Goodhead won't come down to the media department with Bridgette and Didi.

The hidden camera
To retrieve the hidden CCTV camera, you need to get to the office before 3:30pm in Chapter Eight.

Alternatively you can reveal the camera to Principal Valentine, but only if you didn't retrieve it first either by choice or not having the time to do so.
(This is also the pathway to the Principal Valentine bonus)

If you agree to help Megan during your conversation in the gym, she will retrieve the camera instead of you if you don't get a chance and you haven't already revealed it to the Principal.

Chapter Eight endgame
You meet with Principal Valentine at 3:30pm and afterwards leave the office and briefly speak to Miss Goodhead at the top of the stairs.

After this conversation you should enter the Library.
Talk to Bridgette and Didi, and then you need to head straight back to the Principal's office to get Ramsey's laptop.

If you instead try looking for Miss Goodhead, you won't be able to find her, it's a dead end.
Apart from the opportunity to look at the girls in the shower it's just a bad choice.It wastes time and means that when you go to Principal Valentine's office, she will be there to fire you.

To get back into the Principal's suite without getting caught, you must have either retrieved the camera, revealed it to Principal Valentine, or agreed to help Megan earlier on in the chapter.
That way the CCTV camera isn't discovered and immediately used as a reason to fire you.

You also need to have looked at Ramsey's laptop during Chapter Seven as detailed above. If you didn't, then it won't be in the office.

If the laptop is there, you need to go into the office and hide until Principal Valentine and Governor Ramsey leave the medical room.
Then pick up the laptop and take it to Bridgette and Didi.

Don't go into the medical room or you will get fired too!

Next you must head down to the media department and carefully follow Principal Valentine and Governor Ramsey to see where they are going.
Don't get too close or they will see you.
And guess what... You'll get fired!

Look for an opportunity to 'wait a moment' at the top of the stairs near to the gym.

Bridgette and Didi will show the laptop to Miss Goodhead and persuade her to come down to the media department.
They come to meet you outside the locked storeroom door.

The storeroom key allows Miss Goodhead to unlock the door and find out what's happening.

Result... Principal Valentine gets suspended.

Note that after you have successfully exposed the Principal there is a checkfile for the outcome of the Chapter Eight Bridgette Bonus if you played it.

This can determine what happens next.

A favorable outcome leads to a meeting with Miss Goodhead, Bridgette and Didi. They are all very happy with you.

Otherwise, the negative outcome once again gets you fired!

OPTION TWO : The Principal Valentine bonus pathway

If you don't have the key, or the laptop, or you just want to try something else you can use the Principal bonus route to expose Principal Valentine instead.
