Chapter 10 update...

It's coming up to about seven weeks now since I released Chapter Nine and I had hoped that Chapter Ten would be all completed and released by now.

But my output can't quite meet my ambitions and possibly your expectations.

I've been splitting my time between completing the latest chapter and working on some very significant website updates.

I now have a dilemma...

The website updates will introduce a whole new way of handling game saves and also allow for several intermediate save points throughout each chapter.
This will mean that you aren't restricted to saving games only at the end of each chapter when you get to the checkpoints.
In a game so extensive, it makes sense to add more frequency and flexibility with savepoints.

The website upgrades will also mean that saved information is much more accurate and reliable across a range of different browsers.

You'll also be able to add descriptive information to each game save to help organise them in your profile and decide what to keep and what to delete.
There are a few other features and UI improvements that I really want to roll out as soon as possible too.
These include the ability to change your in game alias, and skip straight to any bonus scenes you have already unlocked so you can play them again and again.

All of this takes time... Time I would rather spend on creating the game content and next chapters.

My quandary is whether to focus my efforts on the website upgrades first or get Chapter Ten completed and released before the end of May.

I only have one more new bonus scene to complete now, but it's another large scene and about week or so of work.

There are two new bonus scenes in Chapter Ten and a big expansion to the original story in both the Bridgette and solo pathways.
The current image count is just under 2600 images for this chapter of which about 1200 are completely new. I'm guessing it'll be over 3000 images when completed.

The new chapter would of course benefit from the website upgrades, but I can also see that you all want new content and a step closer to Friday at the Goodhead Academy.

What do you all prefer...?
