January update of silliness! Creature Corners! Board games! Coupon Code!

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick update. I've been spending the morning daylight hours everyday working on paint/colour tests for some creatures in preparation for the Creatures of the Late Afternoon album artwork. These were initially supposed to be tardigrades but most of the photos I saw of tardigrades were just greyscale electron microscope images. I've been inspired by octopus and chameleon camouflage skills from several undersea and reptile documentaries we've watched with the family... so now this first set of creatures are kind of tardigrades with camouflage skills. 

We are also testing some other creature designs in 3D. We are going to make 3 prototype miniature puppets to work in these Creature Corners. Here's one of the work in progress creature corners. We will cut a hole into the floor and the creature will play the theremin and make strange sounds on the modular synths. 

Here are some very rough sketchbook ideas. One creature was initially a salamander but I've changed it to a coelacanth for story reasons...

Here is a kind of plan for layout for the game board. The game board will be in the center and it will be surrounded by an ocean of chameleonic tardigrades...

I also picked up two 4' x 4' canvases to paint the gatefold board game that will be on the album cover when you open it. (giant headphones for scale). 

Excited to get started on this! A fun indoor project for the coldest month of the year.
