Hey Everyone!
For those of you who have been following along on my Lens posts, you've probably seen many clips of us working on the forthcoming Space Cadet animated feature film.
Currently, we are designing and building (digital) sets, and digitally sculpting the props and characters that will appear in the film.
Here we are working on the digital sculpt of the hands for one of the extras in the film. This is what they call the modelling phase of a character.

As you can see we need to rotate each element to make sure it anatomically it will be capable of doing the actions. ie. Holding a carton of milk, or typing on a keyboard etc.

After the modelling phase, it goes to the rigging phase, where we'll determine exactly where the fingers/knuckles/joints bend and will be able to see everything moving!
It's been a lot of work of fun work doing this for all the characters and props that will appear in the film. The process is long and very detail oriented but it's a pleasure to see everything come in real (animated) world come into focus!
Stay tuned! More updates to come!
