Modulators! Prototypes! Infinite Possibilities!

Hey Everyone!

Okay this one's for the studio heads or anyone interested in sound sculpting audio effects.
When Lealani and I were in Michigan on the last tour, my friend Curt Malouin dropped by our sound check to let me try a prototype of the forthcoming Radius pedal that he designed for his effects company Red Panda.

I met Curt in Detroit on our Vinyl Vaudeville/Floor Kids tour back in 2019 and was introduced to his designs via Juan Alderete (bass player for Deltron 3030).  I remember Juan had one of Red Panda's Particle pedals on his board.  During the Deltron Event II shows I would hear the most wild noises coming from his bass rig and I would look up and turn to him and say "How is that bass making that wild sound?!!"  I would learn that one of the key ingredients in the Juan's bass signal chain on that tour was one of Curt's designs.

Since then, we've become friends and I've used many of his effects on several projects. From sound design for Floor Kids to the Music To Draw To: IO album, to Creatures of the Late Afternoon.

Here to demo the pedal I'm playing the opening track from the Creatures album... while Curt demonstrates how this new Radius pedal can mince sounds and take them to whole other universes!  Here's me almost following all the information he's giving me about what this new pedal will do.  Some of the effects it is capable are truly surprising!  This effect can be used as a wild effector but it can also be used very subtly, musically and harmonically depending on what you're putting through it signal wise and how far you push the settings on the pedal. That's what I love about Curt's designs, the range of sounds they can create are astonishing.

The pedal in this video is called Radius and it is not released yet.  He tells me they will be hopefully rolling it out in the coming months!  Looking forward to digging into it when it's released!

I have begun working on a new record related to the Robot Dance Party events.  I know this machine will get some use on that production!
