Deltron tour recap!

Hey Everyone!

Just got back from the Deltron tour and thought I'd share a few pics and clips from the tour! So a few months ago I got a call from Domino from Hieroglyphics crew and Deltron's tour manager about an offer for us to play a few Deltron shows this year.  2 of the shows would be supporting Wu-Tang Clan and Run The Jewels in Colorado and the other 2 would be a few weeks later in Washington.

I don't have any photos of our set because, er, I was busy scratching records. LOL

but I was able to catch Run The Jewels set right after us!  They rocked!

Here's a picture of Wu-Tang clans wireless mics!

It was rad seeing them all perform complete with a live band and a DJ!

Here's a photo of us performing at Dillon Amphitheatre, Colorado the night after. (photo by Brian Neuman)

Fast forward a month and here we are in Washington doing some last minute tests of the visuals in the hotel.  My friend Jon Ng aka Jon Jon animation has been working for a few months on some hand-drawn anime style videos to use on the projection screen during the show.

My other friend Brandon Bloomaert also did some more computer graphics for other moments in the show.

Here we are, syncing everything up to the instrumental versions of the tracks that Del will rhyme over during the gig.

Just before soundcheck we found a wild record store in Bellingham Washington in the basement of an antique store. There were multiple rooms of records and even one with mostly 78 rpm gramophone discs. If I had known this place was there I would have left enough time to have a proper dig through it. Alas, it will have to wait until the next time I'm in the area!

The Bellingham gig went great and was part of a brand new festival called Bellingham Exit! The crowd, venue and crew were amazing!

The next day we drove to Seattle to play a show at the new Crocodile club.

In the afternoon we had to do a photo shoot at an arcade/bar named Jupiter.

Here's what the Jupiter arcade looks like from the outside.  The proprietor of the establishment says the alien character Xorbo is a custom machine made by the same person who built the Zoltar machine in the movie BIG.

Inside, there is a collection of all kinds of pinball and videogames dating from the 70s to today.

Here's Del shredding it on the ultra classic 80s game Bubble Bobble!

Here's the turntable set up at the Crocodile at soundcheck. They even have a fake crocodile skeleton hanging from the ceiling.

The new crocodile club has a hotel upstairs where we stayed.  There's a crocodile in the lobby!

And a really bizarre retro futuristic house phone

and pretty rad retro-futuristic furniture!

and finally they used crocodile eye logos everywhere, which kinda reminded me of the Creatures paintings eyes so I felt quite at home LOL.

Anyhow, all the shows and audiences on this 4 city tour were wonderful! And it was a great to be able to play some shows with Deltron again. We had not done any shows together in maybe 6 years! Great to see everyone again. We discussed doing a third Deltron record. And apparently Del has already started writing lyrics for a couple of tracks... so that's exciting! Hopefully will be back soon with a new album and a whole tour!

Thank you for your support!
