Soundsnacks Kit 1! Explorations in Bleepy Bloopiness!

Hi Everyone!

As you know the recording studio here in Montreal is often dedicated to sound exploration. I try to spend a little time each day seeing what types of sounds I can squeeze out of these sound devices I've collected over the years on tour. Those of you who have been following along on the patron Lens posts, will often see me playing around in the studio in search of new sounds and tones.  It's one of my favorite pastimes.

I thought I'd start creating a few kits of custom sounds for you to enjoy and/or use in your projects! Those of you who work in audio production, feel free to use the sounds from these Soundsnack kits in your tracks, film project, podcast, video game or whatever. Those of you who are not in audio production, feel free to play these sounds for your pets (at moderate levels of course) or entertain your relatives next time they are over for tea!

This Kit 1 is a collection of bleepy bloopiness made primarily from synth drums and effects pedals.  The synth drums were an 70s/80s technology designed to expand the drummers sound palette by adding some really space-y electronic noises to their drum kit. They could be triggered by hitting a drum pad which would trigger the synth "brain" The synth section of the device included various levers that could adjust the duration, sweep, modulation, noise and frequencies of the "drum sound" 

I used a lot of synth drum devices during the sound design stage of the Floor Kids Video Game. They were great for "power up" energy noises or even comical "fail" noises when we needed to give the player some sonic feedback in the game.  They were also great for more standard "electronic drum" sounds like electro kicks and toms. 

Anyhow... I recorded some new bleeps and bloops for you today. They are attached as separate audio clips below. Or you can listen to a medley of them above. Have fun, have a listen and tell us which one is your favorite bloop!
