Marc bought a custom squamata a few years ago. Unfortunately the squamata was a too big around the stomach area but also too short as you can see in the first photo. As you know, Alain is the handyman of the three of us and he is busy making or repairing things every day. He has decided to repair and improve Marc's squamata.
The squamata should be extended approximately 18 cm. For this, an extra piece of fabric is added to the squamata on the front and at the back. In addition, the squamata must become narrower, so we removed 8 scales on every row.
It is a time-consuming job despite it's not difficult to do. The end result will be amazing. Because we ordered extra bronze scales, we decided to make removable armored sleeves, so that the squamata can be worn in later periods like the third or fourth century.
