Lucie is a character in the Esprit Fantômes series, a series that deals with the mysterious and the strange, sometimes in a rather dark way, but remaining good-natured. Ghosts, demons, witches and supernatural entities are part of the daily life of Jaz, a young police inspector, and his journalist fiancée, Lucie, and they both find themselves in paranormal cases.

Jaz and Lucie were investigating a series of thefts of objects from places that were said to be impenetrable. While looking into the matter in more depth on her side, Lucie ended up discovering that the identity of the thief was an imp capable of changing his size to pass through the narrowest of passages. However, the thief had left a small bag of magic powder behind, and when Lucie poured the contents of the bag into her hand, she suddenly began to grow to an impressive height of 20 metres. Panicked and embarrassed, she went to the castle where Jaz and his family lived, in the hope that one of them could make her return to normal size.
