Tall as the Pines

Seven years have passed since Bill fell into Gravity Falls, and Wendy has grown into a confident and independent young woman.

She has built her own house and taken over her father's job. However, nostalgia for that unforgettable summer spent with twins Dipper and Mabel often brings her back to memories of their adventures at the Mystery Shack.

But one fine day, the twins return to Gravity Falls to celebrate their 19th birthday, and Wendy wouldn't miss it for the world: it's the perfect opportunity to reconnect.

With the group of friends reunited, Wendy organised a small, intimate party at her house and took the opportunity to catch up with Dipper, the one she had missed the most. No sooner had they returned than the twins set off on another adventure the very next day, just like in the good old days.

During an outing in the forest, Dipper, Mabel and Wendy came across an ancient seal covered in old runes. It seemed to belong to a mysterious race of giants who had once lived in Gravity Falls. Intrigued, they took the seal back to Wendy's house to clean it and try to translate it.

They discovered that the inscriptions were a message to the descendants of the giants, for the day they returned. The text was in the form of a poem, or perhaps a song. Dipper read it aloud... but nothing happened.

Then Wendy frowned. She knew those words.

It was an old nursery rhyme called "Tall as the Pines", which her father used to sing to her when she was little. He had learned it from his parents, and it seemed to go back a long way in the family...

She took the seal in her hands and sang the rhyme softly, in the right rhythm:

Sleep, child of sky, sleep in the breeze,

Roots in the ground and your heart at ease.

Grow with the dawn, rise with the light,

Taller than trees by the end of the night.

Giants of old, hear this song true,

Whisper your strength to the one who grew.

If their steps match the echoing drums,

Let the mountain know — the giant has come.

But no sooner had she finished than the seal began to glow in her hands.

Something awoke within her — a force that had been dormant forever — and spread throughout her body.

Before she could even realise what was happening, Wendy was growing...

She grew taller and taller with every passing second, until she broke through the walls and roof of her own house.

When it all stopped, the seal went out, and Wendy stood nearly 17 metres tall, standing in the middle of the ruins of her home, her eyes wide.

No one understood immediately what had just happened.

But on that day, without knowing it, a descendant of the giants had just regained her true form...
