The explanation is given in chapter fifty nine and sixty one. The reason he was prohibited from using spells was because the healer didn't want any outside influences affecting the natural development of his mana pathways. The beast core assimilation, however, made that moot as it drastically changed the layout of his mana pathways. Avoiding using spells now wouldn't make any difference as his current pathways are not the result is the sigil but realigned by the beast cores he's assimilated.

I know that the premise of the story is that Greg is supposed to have sex with many women, but I always glad to see development between him and Alena. Also it's great to see magic used during sex - it's a given that in a world where magic such as life magic exists, people that have access to it would use it for sex :) Hoping to see some creative things related to that in the future :) I have one question though - I was under the impression that Greg is not supposed to use magic until he gets to the first tier, and here we hear about him using some rudimentary spells. What have I missed?
