Announcing our next two book club titles

Hi all,

Joseph here. I'm excited to announce the next two titles in our Night Vale book club.

First up is a book by a Night Vale guest writer. In fact, it was after reading this book that I emailed him to invite him to write for us. That book is: Several People Are Typing, by the great trans writer of weird fiction Calvin Kasulke.

This book takes the form of a work Slack channel in which...well a lot of weird stuff is happening, including our main character who has found himself stuck corporeally inside of Slack. It's a lot of fun. Since I'm a little late in announcing this, we'll read the first half (up to, say, page 130) for Monday March 24, and the second half for Monday March 31. This may seem an aggressive schedule, but this book is a very quick read.

Then I'll be continuing to lead us with a book that absolutely blew me away when I read it and served as the structural inspiration for the first Night Vale novel (what does that mean? Let's talk about it in the book club!). It's Night Film by Marisha Pessl

This, I will warn you, is a bit of a love it or hate it book, but I love it, and I'm excited to revisit after a few years away. We'll start that one on Monday April 7, and I'll have more info on exactly how much of the book once I have a copy in my hands, as my copy is currently across the country from me.

Ok, excited to read and discuss with you!
