A sufficiently sincere smile

“Those were simple statements of fact.”
“You’re wonderful,” he said. “Truly, Syl. You are.”
“Also a fact,” she said, grinning. “But I’ll let it slide so long as you’re willing to present me with a sufficiently sincere smile.”
He did.
And it felt very, very good.
Syl and Kaladin at the end of Words of Radiance. Yes, they're up above the clouds, and she's human-sized (she can change). She's an honourspren (like an honour spirit) bonded to him, and he very nearly betrayed his oaths, which can have disastrous consequences for spren.
I think he looks like Kaladin now? As I mentioned on Discord, I’m face-blind and have incredible difficulty doing consistent character faces, especially new characters, especially when they’re wearing such outrageously unusual expressions, like a smile. 😂
