Such amazing stories, im a Maori from Aotearoa New Zealand. We migrated with uncs people 800 years ago on canoe called "waka". We as a people of the pacific ocean are very drawn and have large attachments to the ocean. As colonisation happened within the pacific we were stripped of our ability to be able to fish our own waters we have fished for hundreds maybe thousands of years. Uncs spirituality is very common amongst our people, and the philosophy's we hold to our hearts seem extraordinary or even bizarre to outsiders, but everything unc was saying I understood and felt it in my heart. I feel for Hawaii and Maui, as gentrification is taking over the world and moving the original inhabitants out, it feels like this is the second wave of colonisation, we're the powers that be get rid of all left over connections to our ancestors and traditions. So I appreciate you Tyler for exposing and continuing to expose everything that is happening around the world, especially to people who belong to the land.
